    Hey all,

My power steering belt (4PK-890) doesn't seem to fit around my UDP set.

I got the PS pump moved to almost its loosest position but still no go with the belt.

Any one else have this problem or is this certainly the correct belt?

bring the belt to repco or sprintauto, get a shorter one.

As in the belt appears to be too short? Just fitted an UDP to my NA, utilising the existing new PS belt. Simply fit the belt over the UDP and get it as much around the PS pulley as you can get it, starting from the underside and working clockwise. Then, using a socket, rotate the engine via the UDP bolt, and the belt will rotate into position.

Only applicable for NA- Remembering that the UDP has a 4-groove pulley for the PS belt, whereas the PS pulley itself is a 3-groove, as is the factory belt. Position the belt into the rear 3 grooves on the UDP to give correct alignment.

I just fitted a unorthadox pulley to my tt. Make sure you loosen the power steering pivot bolt ( the one thru the pulley ) a bit. Then back the tighten bolt bolt ( the one that pulls the belt tight ) all the way . oh also loosen the bolt that holds it to the tightening bolt. Now get some multi grips and a torch then squeeze the slotted braket area bolt and pull it over with the multi grips to pivot the pump to the loosest position then flip your belt on then tighten up to adjust then nip the all the pivot bolts up. Sorry about the description it's been a long week but if you get a torch you should be able to work out my dislexic discription. It will go one. Oh make sure they are on in the right order too. I had more trouble with the air con one than the power steering but once i got a torch i nutted it out.

Yep all the bolts are undone and i levered the pump almost all the way to loose (scared i might snap the pipes)

What size belt did you use?

and also i think my PS pulley is slightly bigger than my stock one

    got a pic?

    Thanks

    4PK890 for TT and 3PK890 for N/A.
You really need to get a torch and have a look if you have that size belt it just needs to move more. I could not move mine with a lever enough so use the multi grip trick to move the pump all the way to the right in the end of the tightening bolt slot.
    Cheers Dave
