Hey all, its been literally years since I've posted here and kind of feel like I'm using the forum without giving anything back but my brother and I have been building this bloody TT for 3 years now, thought it was all finished and now need some advise re: CPU problem (suspected).

Basically long and short of it is that we have got a microtech and now when we get it on the dyno and it gets to 6k rpm the engine just shuts off (like you've turned the key). Techno dude hooked up his laptop and there's info being sent to the computer but not from it. Microtech won't touch the computer cause we bought it from Predator (who went broke) and now we're caught between a rock and hard place about what to do.

    My questions are:
A: Do you think it's the computer and do you think it's possibly fixable?
B: If we got a standard computer flashed (like I know Karl (90ttz) does) will it support the 500+hp we're chasing? We've got 800cc sard injectors, sard fuel rail, sard fuel pressure regulator, gt28r turbos, fully built motor etc etc but I'm really stuck, I don't want to spend ANOTHER $3-5k on a ECU, I really just want to get the thing running now!

If you guys could give me some advise or put me onto someone that could that would be fantastic!

A computer reflash will do that power, but it needs to be tuned for your car on a dyno, can't just play with some numbers and send you a chip and have a optimum safe tune.

I would go Nistune (yes I'm a broken record :p)

Hey Chrispy, whatever cpu choice we decide it will be completely tuned whilst on the dyno. So if CPU reflash will do it what are the disadvantages over say Microtech or any other aftermarket?

may sound silly, but you havent accidentally got the hard rev limiter on...

or one of the anti lag features or launch control by accident ....

if the car is running and driveable then the ecu is sending a signal..

i had cutting out issues with a bad alternator that would shut the car off... check your grounds, and fuses. especially the fusible links, could be bad

Definately not a silly questions. We've moved rev limiter to 9k just to be sure and boost cut to 40psi (just to be sure).

Mechanic is checking all earths etc so will find out on Monday I suppose.

    Any more ideas?

... hi nathan ..great to hear that you are still amongst the land of the living ....

.. had been wondering whether the build was still a goer .. been a while ..!!!

.. you have missed some fun times with an old adversary or two ... and believe it or not, your name came up, last weekend, in a discussion about the infamous "air guide" .. lol... !!!
