Hi all, I've picked up a LC-1 Wideband O2 sensor plus the Nistune board, connector cable etc. Just wondering if anyone knows the correct location for mounting the O2 sensor? Not certain how far back from the motor as well as right or left exhaust.. Any help appreciated. :)

When I fitted my set they came with very clear instructions as to the location for the bosses of the sensor. There should be something like that with your one surely otherwise if there is a tech number ask them as it may differ between manufacturers.

Well I'm glad I read that!

I was about to install two O2 sensors, and using a switched relay flick between them so that I only needed 1 gauge, looks like I'll can that idea

Can't you just keep them both powered and just switch the signal?

    Thanks

Thanks Beaver, my instruction pages don't seem to be as clear as that. I should be ok with it now. Cheers.

    sounds good

altho, i dun think the power signal is continuous - when the car starts up, i don't think the O2's are powered up until the exhaust has warmed them up enough... does that sound right? so you'd have to put a relay in to switch the power signal to the O2 not being controlled by the gauge/controller

Not sure, but I do know that some O2's have built in heaters.

    Well

Well, just bit of a flick through, the sensor heats itself up on 12 volt, when it's hot enough, that's when you start your car. If you jam in a cold device in a hot exhaust, looks like that'll fluff it.

Found the manuals, hidden on the cd, had to install the log viewer, then they magically appear. Thought the quickstart guide was a bit of a rip(!)

my WBo2's have heaters but there was no mention of warming up before starting.

I don't even see how it's possible, cos they can't predict when you're about to start.

I read somewhere that O2 sensors get damaged if the exhaust hasn't warmed them up before you start reading the signal? something like that
