Actually pick four as I need a set but anyway .....

    Nito NT05s 245/40/18 front and 275/35/18 rears

OR Michelin Pilot Super sports in the same size

I'd go wider all round but the current wheel set up prevents that and the wheel situation will be addressed later on, currently 8.5 @ + 30mm front and 9.5 @ +30 rear.

This is for my blue Z32 2+0 TT running in street class in Superlap, semi slick tyres are banned for street class but oddly the NT05s are permitted.

We get one warm up/out lap then it's all on for your flying lap to set your time, then cool down and back into pits.

I have zero experience with either tyre but figured the Michelin might suit the cooler operating temp more than the Nitto??

Anyone with any real world comparisons between them?

    Next round is Saturday :D

NT05s tolerate heat better from what I've read and aren't any good in the rain or when they're cold. I'd pick these.

Super Sports are supposed to be go anywhere street tyres and aren't as suited to being punished on track once you've gotten heat into them.

Seconded on the NT05's. The zed is relatively heavy, so you should be able to get enough heat into them in your warm up lap for them to perform better than the cups.

    ??

Anyway for now at least I have the Super Sports fitted.
This is perhaps more an experiment than a calculated move.
They are better than the z1s that were on there but maybe not as good as the Nitto. It is supposed to be raining on the weekend, so this might play out well for me.

Yep...there's nothing good to say about the Nitto's in the rain. The INVO's are ok...but yep...the SS will do you a better job.

Sorry mate, I'm a little late to the party.

I've been running Pilot Super Sports for a while now, and they've lasted five track days and a couple of skidpan days with very little to complain about.

Wet weather performance is excellent, and while they do start to lose a bit of grip as they get hot it's a gradual and predictable drop-off. Tyre wear is very good too, provided you don't have too much scrub on your alignment settings.

As a do-it-all tyre they are outstanding value for money. Given the weather out your way, I'd say you made the right choice.
