    Another update

As some of you may remember I had and incident with a kangaroo in mid June which resulted in the Zed going away on a tow truck...

Well, almost 2 months later and my baby still hasn't come home. It took 5 weeks for the assessor to decide to fix it which he blamed on being hard to find parts and not being any available records of similar hits on these cars, which I seriously doubt.

Anyway, a couple of weeks ago it went in to be repaired. Looks like I'm getting brand new OEM parts from the radiator forward, although a stock front bar instead of the Ztoy spec.

The same night I hit the roo, my parts began to arrive.

First were the cams I bought from Andy (XKGB) which were out of a '97 series II manual with approx 30,000km on the clock with OEM S2 gears. Awesome examples which still have the manufacturing marks present on the lobes.

Next was the Nistune board I purchased in the recent group buy along with a few bits and pieces from Coz.

Then the 32,XXX km '97 series 2 NA long block I got from dEcOy and mmarshall. Came with all internals, heads, lower plenum and injectors but missing the intake cams and gears but otherwise in excellent condition.

Then my hood struts from Chris and my 3rd brake light infill panel from Jamie's other GB.

As all these parts were slowly turning up with various couriers, shit got REAL! :br: :br: [TIS]

    My girlfriend was pregnant.

So as it stands now I've got a baby on the way and a Fairlady without room for a baby seat.

My options when I get it back are to:

    A) Store the zed in one of the three enormous sheds I just acquired and put the new engine and goodies in and wait a few years until I'll get any real use out of it again.

    B) Sell the zed as is, and sell the extras and other spares a long with it or separately.

    C) Drop S2 engine in, tune, and do a few other little bits and bump the price up.

    D) Part out the zed, which will mean more spares and rare parts on the forum, but will leave me with a pain in the ass shell to dispose of...

    So, opinions guys?

id go option E) Finish your zed in the manner you had originally planned with the parts you have.

drive it for a few months before the girlfriend gives birth. enjoy your work for a while.

then sell car or preferably swap for a 4 seater zed.

Good luck with it all anyway, kids are one hell of a adventure. just like zeds hehe

Sounds like your building my car, 97 spec motor and all ;)

Shame you have to move the car on, personally I would just store it, but your call mate!

It'll allow me to pay out a small personal loan now and save a lot more money if I sell it, but then I'll have no toys left :(

Perhaps I'll go with option E for now and see where that gets me.

Dean - pretty similar, but better because slicktop ;)
