well another tech-day has been and gone, with a few zeds being fixed or mangled as part of the fun..... thanks to everyone for helping out, got a fair bit done to the wreck even if we didnt manage to get started on my good car lol..... brad cranked out the mig welder at the last moment for some last minute seatbelt mount fixing, i broke the top of the heineken keg within 5 minutes of opening it, the bbq ran out of gas just as the snags were finished cooking, nuts were rounded broken and bent left right and centre, all in all a pretty typical zed tech day!
Sorry Sorry I missed it mate, I did'nt even realise it was on till last night when Michelle told me. Sounds like I missed a fun day, I gotta get mine back on the road . Will catch you all soon I hope. Andy
Awesome tech day! Special thanks to Brad (DUB), Vader, and Ross for helping me with my seatbelt woes! And any others that I've missed It was great to catch up with the aus300zx crew again! Looking forward to actually helping next time
damn rosco your house looks like a wrecking yard... where are the beers and snags mate??? haha no excuses now why your zed shouldnt be running you only have 4 million zed spair parts hahaha
Flat out from the time I got there until I left, was good to swing some spanners and chat Zed with most that came along. Got Ross's rounded suspension bolt off in... oh ...about 30 seconds Discovered the rear tail panel for sale was actually an illuminted one :rolleyes2: Pulled off the crank bolt and GoFast bitz underdrive pulley using the super special locked power steering pump technique. Pinched all the relays and main fuses while Ross wasn't looking. Removed timing covers, water hardpipes, water pump, timing belt, tension device, bearings (thankyou recent 100K service) Pulled out a power window motor and modified a multi-purpose broom handle to be the temporary window glass lock device. Adjusted bonnet latch and rad support panel down to re-align bonnet. Drove Kabir's bad boy Zed for a good 20 minutes coming away with a clear victory..... Welded up a torn door bolt then further modified said door to accept secondary mounting position after primary mounting bolt siezed. Went and found my tools all over the place all bar my extension magnet, so whoever has it please bring it back. Enjoyed the moment.:zlove:
Well done. We don't usually get much photos in tech day. Only Dave and Brad were serious about getting something done while others were destructed with something else.
thanks brad, the exhaust bolts are rounded on as well though....when you free next lol! DOH!!! lol...your welcome to them, was covered in your fee wasnt it!
there were beer and snags, i put on a heineken keg lol....had 2 but we only got through one, lots of non-drinkers.........snags were there of course! missed you on the day simmo, next time aye!
I thought Dave got all them off? Was going to bring the blow torch as well! Double Doh! 2 slightly warm snags=happy Brad
