Hey I have read up on a few threads, but I couldnt really find a definate answer, I had my door trims off today for retrimming and i noticed that the seatbelts were the original nissan ones, I thought they were all supposed to be replaced for compliance? the doors have the intrusion bars in them so they have to have had the door trims off, so its not a thing of being lazy or it being too hard, however that being said on the bottom bracket that holds the seatbelt to the door, the bolt had been stripped out so someone has obviously had that off before for some reason. So yeah I guess the question Im asking is do they definately 100% have to be replaced when compliancing? and also how many people still have these seatbelts? And while im on the subject of seatbelts does anyone know and companies that do coloured replacement seatbelts? A mate of mine has an orange torana with orange seatbelts to match the paint but they were in there when he got it so he doesnt know where they came from.

They don't have to be changed if it's a personal import.

Unsure on the coloured seatbelts though.

chrispy rekon you can do me a favour and find out if a personal import needs factory HIDs changed to halogens during compliancing? has no washers, no self levellers...

I'll see what I can find out... My Evo has factory HID's with no washers and manual electric levelers. It was a SEVS import.

do you suppose that you could make your own manual electric levelling and washer system and get it passed to run legally with hids? yes i realise that it would be a hell fiddly job but still. also what are the legalities of hids in our high beams, being as how your not supposed to drive with high beams on into oncoming traffic anyway they shouldnt be able to 'dazzle' oncoming traffic due to not being level.

According to my import mate it will be ok.

Possible, but honestly not worth the hassle. Hide the ballasts and be done with it.
