I found that my rear Yokahama Advans V103 255/40/17 need replaceing ( these are a great tyer :br: AA rated but only 180 wear rateing ) The tyer man done a search and found there was only 4 "V103" tyers of this size in the country and 2 tyers I require would have to be transported from W.A. if I wont them. The tyer man then recommended I use a newly released Kumho K-22 sports tyer Rated AA and 420 wear rated @ $275 each cheap ( V103 are $385 each ) I wonder if they will as good as the $385 V103? Old timer will tell :zlove::br::rofl:
Depends... ...on what you call better. They will last nearly three times longer, and they're cheaper... so better in a sense. Grip will be considerably less in the dry and wet, and they're a little on the noisy side. :br:
For the love of god, it's "tyre". Get Michelin Pilot Super Sports from tirerack.com. They should be just over $1k shipped to Australia in your sizes, and they'll be better than pretty much any street tyre that's within your budget. If they're good enough for an M3/M4/F458, they're good enough for your Z32.
Although it seems 255 is hard to find in 17". If you can get away with 245/45/17 on your rims it will make finding tyres much easier and probably cheaper.
45 Profile will alter speedo readout. I do use 45 profile on the front 235/45/17 Yokohama V103 tyres [ YES :agree:  TYRES ] which are used on HSV, Bentley GT and 911 Porsche . I have had two rear KU-22 Kumho 255/40/17 tyres fitted :br: :br:.
Yep, same sizes on my car and I recently had to replace the rears. I wanted to go to 265/40/17 on rear because my rim is 9.5" and I just think 255 looked a bit narrow, but they didn't have Federal in stock, so I got whatever in 255/40/17. The 235/45/17 Yokos on front cause my speed sensor to report 100KM/h to the NikoZ diag program, when the car is actually travelling at 102KM/h, but since my speedo is currently over-reporting the speed anyway, I find that the speedo shows 105KM/h As my speedo is right now, I could up my front tyre profile to 255/45/17 and the speedo will accurately read 105KM/h when the car is actually travelling at 105KM/h. Anyway, I found this to be useful http://www.tyresizecalculator.com/tyre-wheel-calculators/speedo-error-calculator
