OK so I keep hearing about the PTU, I know where it is, but I dont know how can test if it is faulty, is there any method, or do I have to take it to a mech?
the test procedure needs a multimeter onn the diode test setting. The procedure for showing continuity is shown in the factory service manual (see tech section) in the EF/EC chapter. Its under "component check'' section or something to that effect.
If you're after copper plugs the ones to get are NGK BCPR6ES for the .8mm gap or BCPR6ES-11 for a 1.1mm gap.
yeah he may be here longer than me (on this login name) but he is new to working on cars.. which is what i was refering to...
yep thats true, I have spent shit loads on repairs alone, so I amtrying to do anyhting possible for a home job that need repairs instead of taking to mechs now.
Fair enough. Just make sure you have a read up on whatever you are doing before you jump in. The factory service manual is fantastic and covers most things. It's in the tech section if you haven't got one of Baz's CD's. In most cases there is also a tech article with pictures and a nice walkthrough, always look if you aren't 100% on what you are doing.
