What are the chances of finding a set? How much would I be looking at paying? Anyone got any close up photos of how they attach to the roof? Anyone want to sell me a set...?
Answered my own question -> http://www.aus300zx.com/forum/showthread.php?t=332598 Still really really want some. I can't (be bothered) to work out yahoo so could anyone help me out with finding some?
Ugh 10/10 would love a set too, would be a good look having my snowboard strapped to the top for a boarding trip, but thats why i bought the ute aha
Yahoo is pretty simple - You can translate the text in real time with google chrome. To buy something, you send the link to someone over there that buys it for you and sends it to you. Jesse Streeter is good (http://jessestreeter.com/). Simple process, I think he takes like $20-$30 for the service so if shipping is cheap it'll be heaps cheaper to get it imported.
I think its the Boofsquire hatch racks for a 350-370z that somebody trial fitted with success on a 300zx. These are a hatch style rack, not a traditional roof rack- good for carrying a bicycle only. Regarding roof racks, have seen no alternatives that fit properly. There are a later model rack system (think supercheap stock) that have a listing for z32, but require mounts drilled into the roof. There are some photos circulating of US cars with what looks like Yakuma style racks fitted, but nothing close enough to show whether or not mounts have been drilled in to suit. I experimented and imported 2 sets of alternate Nissan model Navan racks, which use the "clamp under runner" style attachment. None have the centre locking bar which the Z32 style has. 1 Set did come with 2 bars that secured the racks together from the outside ends- impractical for a targa top and fouled on the slicktop roof anyway. Ultimately, neither fitted near securely enough that I'd risk either not damaging the paint substantially or driving with the racks unloaded even, for fear of them falling off. As anti said, they are a "pay to play" item, with no cheap substitutes thus far
