Apologies... ...for non-attendance last night. Finished working on Zed at 8.30 - but now have two full-width independent intercoolers hooked up to existing side-mounts (overkill, but who cares??) complete with the most exhaustingly set-up piping (simple, but hellish difficult to work out in the first place!). Also fitted one of those new-fangled finned cylindrical oil coolers...supposed to improve engine cooling, which can only be a good thing. Cooling (??) vents in side fenders are looking 'cool' (Oh, he's a comedian, this boy!) and bonnet scoops have been 'smoothed' to give a more professional look. Only problem now is final paint and waiting for the oil-infected cuts on hands and arms, split lip and black eye, as well as the broken 'pinky' to heal. Ever tried operating with two fingers taped together?? Ah well, the things we do for our cars...!! Could have been out eating and socialising with a group of rabid good-time merchants....(??) hmmm...!!! Special apologies to Oni for organising what, I'm sure, was a great night!! Just hope I don't get excommunicated for missing so many functions....
I would call that a suprise too. It was great to finally put a face to the name.... It was another great night with plenty of laughs... Always a great bunch of people to be with... Terry and Anna
Hey hey I'm in Sydney!!!!! Thanks for a great night out and my first ashore meal for over a week. Was great to meet a few new faces. Many thanks to Caz for the ride to & from the boat. Moved to Woolwich Dock, Hunters Hill, yesterday. Will be here for a few weeks yet.
Hi Rob Grew up there & fished all around that dock way before the Army had it. And I was there just before the Sydney to Hobart at Xmas, with the launch of a few competitors for that race. Not a bad pub up the road either, The Woolwich Pier. Cheers Kerry
Hehe... still to check out the pub, maybe for $10 steak special on Monday The dock is nearly as old as you Kerry an interesting place, surrounded by race yachts - Ichi Ban, Wild Joe etc. plus other superyachts!
Actually Rob More in your Era I'd say. The dock has been there since WW2 & probably before that, as Woolwich is a very old suburb of Sydney. It was used by Cockatoo Dock Yard which is just mid-way across the Parramatta River. Actually Rob, the concrete block sections for the Gladesville Bridge ( Largest concrete arch span) were cast there & then floated down to the bridge site, ready to be lifted into place. You forgot to mention 3rd place getter YENDYS, as its based there also. Hope you enjoy your stay, Hunter's Hill is a nice part of Sydney. Cheers Kerry
