not sure if anyone is familiar with ..this...but

    my car makes a sqealing sound as i drop revs while driving.
    ONLY in COLD WEATHER THOUGH.

    i think my auto belt tensioner needs to be tightened?


    edit: posted the same problem in the sydney EOI tech day :eek:

    thought i'd get more responses here.

    Could be something as simple as a drive belt. If you can figure out some way to put water on them while it's running and the noise goes away there is your culprit.

    More info needed ....

    Belts normally squeal upon acceleration and/or when load comes on. U sure it's not the power steering, when turning?

    belts squeal upon accelerating at high reves then..

    as soon as i decelerate (foot off accelerator),

    quick sudden squeal.

    might try that water idea. :eek:
