Normal Z's aren't fast enough so I'm building a flying one - redux

For those wondering about the thread title, when I bought the Z originally I made this thread with the same name. Pictures are long dead but thought I'd throw it up for some history.

So where is the Z at now?

Broken. Low compression on #2 as a result of a software fault (I think) meant the Z has been sitting idle for quite a while. New job. New money. Time to get it back up and running. It ran 13.9X on 5 cylinders in mid 1XXs psi and one at 90 psi the last time it was out. Hoping to improve on that significantly when it comes back.

Have had a motor ready to swap over for a while. Came out of EvZ car way back when. 150+ across the board. Gonna throw some extra bits on it and run that till I decided what to do with the motor thats coming out.

What's it already got:
Intake
2.5" exhaust
Blitz ID-3 EBC.
SPL radiator (need to get the hard lines for embedded oil cooler made up)
Defi gear
Gram Light 57Pro - 18x9 +40 /w245s, 18x10+38 /w 285s
RPS 6puck Max Clutch
RPS LW Flywheel

Currently sitting at my place:
MSP manifolds
SZ 3" expansion
100k service kit
New motor mounts
Polished upper plenum
Silicon vac line to replace everything
High flow thermostat
+ bunch of other small things I'm forgetting no doubt.

About to be ordered:
300degree fuel rail / 740cc / hard lines
Nistune (probably)
Selin Translator + Elbow kit + Extra Maf (again, probably)
3"->2.5" cat pipes (prob get them done here, undecided)



Hoping to dive in to the low-mid 12s at the strip, hoping to spit out some smoke at AHG and maybe even Collie/Barbagello.

Some more AHG sounds awesome. Now called somethin else though, like RAC or some shit.

An RameyZ engine sling that I ordered has arrived at SpecialtyZ so my fuel rails/translator order should be coming out shortly

Also picked up an engine crane from Josh (loud'n'proud) so might start doing some work this weekend if I have time.

FWIW I bought most of the gear through SZ and they were awesome to deal with. Bought sling from IPP because SZ doesn't typically carry it and then shipped to SZ who then forwarded it on with the rest of my gear.

And yes. 90psi on #2 and 150? on the rest. 13.96 pass.

 

Damn wide wheels on the back, that looks stunning. Heading out to any of the vic events soon i'd love to check it out
