Hi All, I'm wondering what to do about a urethrane bar I picked up from Will, thanks Will for putting up with my paranoia! :D

I'd like to make it the glossy black as per the Z's standard black.

I was wondering, over the Chrissy break for something to do, do people paint them themselves or is it best to get the pro's to do it? I've got a sweet little protected garage, but not sure if it's wise to do it myself.

Has anybody tried painting front bars at home before? What did you use? Or if it's not recommneded, what's the usual cost for a professional?

    Thanks for any info!

Most Panel beaters wont even give u a quote with bodykits till they see it ..
I spent a day going around asking questions around Rooks rd, off Canterbury road with all the panel beaters there. But after many questions. average answer for fitting and colour matching.. is about $150 at most .. it just depends on how well the panel beater gets rid of the pin holes and how gooder colour match they do..

I'm getting my car back today from a respray and he quoted me the best price. so if its a good job i'll recommend you to goto him since your in melb.

but imho save yourself the hassle just get a pro to do it.. coz its their liability if they **** up.. not urs and a tiny paint run will haunt u :p

I have to agree ,get it done by a pro, unless you paint cars for a living,a home job will always look like a home job and the zed deserves better than that :) :)
However as far as fitting and painting a front bar for $150  ,a decent spray job on a front bar will cost you more than $150 alone besides the fitting labour (more like double that) :zlove:

Way more than $150 bro. More like $400 - 450. But it is somethinng that you need to get the pro's to do unless you have already honed skills.

Yeah, I've heard $450 or so too

Yeah Mtentori, I've heard that price is pretty much the standard. I think Gnimelf must be reffering to is spoiler only. .. Hey Gnimelf, what did you get painted? Did they match all things well?

hey, yea man.. the paint job is very good, besides a small pin hole on the bonnet, but nothing touch up paint and a buff cant fix really all for $970
    which was as follows

    -LH Wheel Guard resprayed
    -RH Wheel Guard resprayed
Roof dints removed from tree falling on it and resprayed ( targa's not included)
    -Bonnet resprayed
-Stock spoiler removed, 2 fists size rust holes, welded up. and no body can pick it. not even my friend who's a panel beater
    -Nose resprayed

    all colour matched very well

    Holy Sh:t!

Gnimelf, excellent! That's some quality work, and a lot of it for a great price! Well, I think I'll ask them if they do my front r.guard too. Ok, now I've got to ask, who's your sprayman?
