Where does it state that our cranks are nitrided ?

It looks more like induction hardened.

Any one direct me to proof / facts that I can read / see?

(And NOT heresay from other forums )

Never heard that they were. I had my crank nitrided at Heat Treatment Australia.

on every 300zx forum people are saying it is .

So just want to clarify any false information that's out there .

Most about this topic has come up with regrinding cranks and having to nitride them again

According to my engine machinist, they are hardened, not Nitrided

I thought it was standard practice to case harden crank shafts - at least that's what I was taught in some materials physics subject at uni

Crankshaft specialist told me that my VG30DET crank was nitrided. He can get nitriding done so $ for him.

If in doubt, take your crank to a specialist for his opinion.

Nitriding is a type of case hardening. Few different ways of doing it.
