    Hello all,

I just wanted to introduce myself and give a bit of back ground on myself and Powertrix. I first hear of your forum board from customers that have purchased from us in Australia. It?s great that there is such a large following and community for the 300zx all around the world and we look forward to adding to the aus300zx community.

My name is Charles Park and I am with POWERTRIX Performance and Styling. We started the company in 1999 with designing and manufacturing aesthetic show components specifically for the Z32 such as carbon fiber engine accents and then used those techniques to make functional components such as radiator air guides, vented nose panels and fog light air ducts for performance purposes.

We quickly started expanding our product line to suspension components and after buying and reselling suspension components, we found very quickly though trial and R&D/road and track testing that most of the products were not to our standard and decided to launch out own line using materials and components that we could choose ourselves. 90% of our time is used for developing, perfecting, and testing suspension components specifically for the Z32. As most larger companies have moved away from making components for the Z32 and it is our dedication to continue to develop new product for the 300zx.

I started out in the late 80s early 90s when college took a back seat (probably not the greatest decision) to spending a lot of time in the large illegal street racing scene here in Southern California. I was working for a car audio shop installing stereos and alarm systems which quickly turned into installing fuel computers, boost controllers and Nitrous systems and started my venture into the aftermarket performance world. Since then and acquiring my first 300zx in 1996 (now my dedicated drag car) I have respectfully taken my love for performance cars, competition and racing off the public streets and on to the track where now all R&D of our components take place. Mostly know for drag racing, our Z32 has run its quickest 1/4 mile time of 10.95 @ 125mph. It is the quickest stock turbo, stock internal engine, auto tranny 300zx recorded to date. Road Racing and Auto crossing is also a large part of our component testing as well and has given us a well tested line of adjustable suspension arms, coilovers, and chassis bracing.

We are also dealers for other products for the 300zx as well and include such lines as SpecialtyZ, MS Performance manifolds, RPS, JWT, TheBrakeMan, Etc.

I have a love sickness for the Z car as over the years I?ve acquired 2 TT, 1 2+2NA, 1 convertible, and 1 Z33. I am lucky to have an understanding wife that lets me get away with the excuse of ?but it?s for the business and R&D?; they really are for work purposes. Also the Z33 was a good bribe as she gets the newer car. :)

We?d like to provide for the community of aus300zx in both offering our products and experience. We have listed some Introductory Specials in the business section of the board:

We would also like to update these monthly and your suggestions are greatly appreciated and will be taken in consideration for upcoming specials.
    Thanks again.

    Welcome Charles :)

I can vouch for him as I've bought some Dash Vent pieces to push my dash back down. They look great and a fair few people have commented on saying they look just about stock.

Hi Charles, welcome to Aus300zx. Very nice introduction there mate. You sound like a smart, genuine bloke that provides great products and services. I'm sure you'll be getting business from this forum. - Maybe not as much these days due to the crappy economy and how the AUD sits with the USD. But it's great to have new product lines to look through.

    All the best,
    Benny.

Those dash pieces look very trick - an ideal way to fix the lifting dash problem. How easy are they to install? When I tried to push back the lifting part of my dash it seemed quite stiff, so how much pressure can these pieces take?

I got some spare dash vents, send them to Charles. When I got them back they just pushed in no problems :) Didn't require too much force and they haven't wanted to come back up.

Thank you all for the warm welcome.

    Gentlemen,

Thank you all for the warm welcome. It's refreshing to be a part of a new (for me) z board. Also nice to see some familiar screen names from other Z forums as well.

Our panels will take a lot of pressure. The panels them self are made of carbon fiber Pre-preg and several layers of graphite that are heat pressure fused into one ridged structural piece and then CNC machined to shape and are guaranteed not to warp. It is the stock OEM panels that we attach them to that can break under the pressure of attaching our panels and the force of pushing the dash back into place. We custom attach them to the stock defrost panels using a proprietary method with a series of nuts bolts and rubber bump stops that elevate most of the pressure on the stock units and still maintain the ability to hold down a warped dash. The trick during installation is to make sure that you install them during a sunny day where the sun and warm temperature has soften up the dash and made it pliable. When cold, the dash material can be extremely ridged and almost impossible to install the panels.

Here are the R&R instructions if you would like to check out the process:
