Old: New: Didn't take a pic of my actual twin plate but it looks the same as: The reduction in rotational mass has made a significant change in the way the car responds to the throttle, it's possibly best described as mental  Soooooo nice to ditch the old gearbox, that is the original box from the original slicktop turbo I purchased ~12years ago, it has seen a LOT of use and abuse and apart from throwing all the synchro clips out, destroying two input shaft bearings, wearing ALL the synchros out, all the bearings being noisy it was going great  Nice to see the 98 spec box has a boss for a magnetic pickup off the ring gear - VERY handy for those running after market ECUs and pushing the limits
I can be a bit fussy & like to have things clean (a bit like Jono) so externally the old box looks to be in good condition, internally .......... Well lets just say the oil I drained out of it was very dark grey and after leaving the oil to settle for a while there was a silver lining on the bottom of the tray.
Sorry mike Black box: Two brown boxes: A look inside a brown box: And a clutch/crouch shot before surgery - it's much tighter now Yes the new clutch is awesome, was seriously sticky for the first few shifts but has bedded in a little now and is just as good if not better than the big single it did have.
