Well my spending lockdown is nearly over so I've been snooping about for "little" bits to buy later. I have a truck load of stuff coming next week and have to keep the ball rolling.
I've got my eye on these two and am learning towards the square one.
Fit in the boot better, maybe.
Am I on the rite track or should I be looking at something else? I'm also looking at ECU upgrades, any suggestions?
    Thanks guys.

Surge tanks are nice BUT if you plan to run it in the boot you will need to put it in the wheel well and completely seal it off. No flamable liquids in the cabin...

Is this for 2+2 or 2+0? If 2+2 you have room to fit a surge tank under the car.

    It's for the 2+0 rob.
I saw a pic of a neat system in the boot so I thought I'd do the same, apparently not.
There's room in the wheel well? How about putting it a metal cabinet in the boot with that in it?
If there's no big advantage to a surge tank then I could throw something like this under the bonnet?

Something like that would be OK -easiest would probably be to bin the space saver and fab up sheet metal plate to replace the existing false floor. Ha better yet make one out of lexcan so you can see the bling

You don't need a surge tank unless you are planning a pretty serious track car though... I'm running twin walbro pumps in the 2+0 fuel tank. Loads of fuel, quite, and no probs trying to seal off the plumbing!

If I had room for an external surge tank I would have been all over it, but I do the occasional long trip (Sydney to Brisbane) and don't like the idea of travelling without a spare!

No, but it sure looks the goods. Priced about the same too.
    Any advantages over the bosch?
Looks like the surge tank is out so fitting will be easier.
Thanks guys. An idiot like myself needs some direction.

Eric put a surge tank and external 044 on Drokk's zed. It's a 2+0. Used a custom surge tank.

Less current draw something you need to watch with multiple pumps , These Magnafuel pumps are reasonably quiet and there are other sizes of this pump up and down . Other brands worth investigating Fuelab , Aeromotive , Weldon , some will require pump controllers .

As far as ecu goes, you cant go past a vipec v88 mate. People are actually selling their motecs and replacing them with these. In built boost controler, antilag, flatshift, traction control, launch control. the list goes on. Around $2400

You got me licking my chops matty. That's a lot of extras. I'm loving the launch and traction control. I'll check them out.

i have an SM4, however i have not used it yet. It has alot of functions as well, and in fact i think the V88 is largely based on the SM4, as vipec is made for ray hall. between the motec (5k+), v88 and SM4, there isnt much in it. It all comes down to budget. There are a few 6sec sport compact cars using the v88 if that's any indication of its capabilities.
