Howdy Z-Folk, I know a lot of us are wary of mechanics, have been burnt in the past, heard the horror stories, and are usually on the lookout for someone reputable. So I figured I'd let you all know about a mechanic/shop I was VERY impressed with, who fixed a problem I've been trying to get sorted for a long time without success. Located in Morayfield/Caboolture (Brissy far north side), the shop name is RPM PERFORMANCE. The owner and main mechanic's name is Peter. I'm not sure it really says too much, but this guy has raced his own turbo-charged RX7 in the Bathurst 24hour race. So you'd assume he knows a thing or two. Anyway, after many months of bad starts and rough running, I took my car to Pete and he figured out that whoever last tinkered with the fuel system on my Z had plumbed the bl--dy thing back in virtually backwards! After a few new parts, some replumbing, and a handful of dyno runs, my Z now starts and runs perfectly, and he got an extra 12KW at the wheels for me!!! I've found his pricing to be quite reasonable, and he knocked a little off as he originally quoted me for less than it ultimately came to. Very easy to get on with and open for feedback after the job is done. Constantly calls with detailed updates on his work progress. He even picked a few niggly problems I'd been having without me even having mentioned anything about them... and they weren't easily evident problems! I'm very impressed with this guys work and knowledge, and recommend him to anyone who's in search of a good mechanic on Brisbane's north side.
