Well finally plucked up the courage to fix up my factory light up pannel. And well........it looks ........shit hot:zlove::zlove: In the oven door at 180deg for 8 min.(fan forced oven) Heres the end result. Now i have blue lights everywhere...lol The original looks terrific compared to a normal one done up. Cheers Patrick
Was lucky to get it with the car, i think they where a rareish factory option. Thanks Erik, um yes the original was a greenish color, but that died before i got the car. From this forum i found out it was the factory option pannel and thought id better fix it. Looks better blue i think. Hows the new camera going?? Cheers Patrick

Wow! so thats what they look like - gees - i really cant see why they would be illegal?? they look so nice - i think we should set up a petition of some sort and request that they be legal.... I'd like to know why they did make them illegal - can anyone shed some light (lol) on that?? I have an original lightup panel on mine - but was going to swap it for a normal one - only coz i want to look after it.... heavytrevy also has an original lightup panel....packed safe away lol

nope,no blue light can be emitted from the rear of a vehicle I agree it does look good,alot better than the home made jobs,they look pretty crappy imho Clear corners do one with leds which looks good,unfortunately the price tag doesnt look as good as the light wrong,why do you guys think that because it came with a vehicle it has to be legal lol,a car had to conform to the countries laws it lives in
Whats the harm in having it lit up?? will have to do some research as to why we cant have them on..... its not like an extra brake light, it doesnt flash or anything so i dont understand the harm in having them on.... when i get some spare time - i may ring the dept of transport or someone and ask them the 20 q's as to why... We're not parting with our lightups.....

My stock one was a purply green... If thats even possible... Anyway, when I did a similar thing I could never get it to close 100% and as such it protrudes a little bit from flat (makes it hard to turn the key in the hatch) any advice for mine?
come to think of it, the compliance people must have disabled it. jap goodies like yellow fog lights, side markers and rear EL panels are all distracting in some way to other drivers so are removed to conform to AU standards. you don't know until you start looking. my car's side markers were disabled and after seeing a few people with them, i looked behind the plastic and found the wiring.
