    Hi All,

For some reason, my 1990 300zx TT just doesn't boost like its suppose to. I have a disabled boost control unit in there that I haven't removed yet, which I hope is the cause of the problem. I had a drag with my mates over the weekend and I lost to both of them. One had a Honda intergra (worked engine) and one had a stocky Nissan Skyline R33. My Z got decimated, I hanged my head in shame all weekend. I need some advice, I'm a car novice, would you guys be able to give me some advice on how to beef up my Z.

    Cheers

a stock z should beat a stock r33, something is wrong with your car,

have you got a boost gauge? if not grab one as i rekon your running in saftey boost (5-6psi) or alternativly get the car conzulted.. someone in nsw may be able to help you with that..
    is your car stock?

Nobody said anything about drag racing on the street - which cleary Trumps

was not doing, because that would be illegal, and nobody on this forum does illegal things like that.

From what i have been told other forums know us as the cardigan club.. From my previous experience we drive 30kms under the limit.

Do an ecu test, see if there is any error codes, then check for boost leaks

check your base timing, clean terminals, do a compression test or get one done by a mechanic, once you have done this you'll know where your at, then you can go from there.

Thanks for all your help guys

Yeah i'll take it to a shop and see what happens. Yeah my ride is stocky. Don't worry guys when me and my mates drag, its on a race track we hire, not on the streets, so it is legal.

    Cheers

Make sure you take it to a shop that knows 300zx's. Otherwise you'll be throwing money away as most places wouldn't know how to fix some of the simple problems you get in a 300.

No one even got time to post up a prediction about your remark!!

R3D300, they are pricey because you are not paying for them to 'learn' about your Z
