Which one of identically configured exhaust system on NA and Turbo Z be louder?Muffler shop says NA would have the more offensive note because the turbo would flow more air.Some people on the forum also says having full system will make the sound less rough. I though the higher the flow, then the sound will be louder (maybe not necessarily harsher).What I know is that resonator will make it less offensive note.So the question is which one is louder and why? NA is louder..... the turbo's actually "baffle" the sound so its not as loud or drony as it would be on an NA. My exhaust is an example of this. On methods car (TT), it was fine. On my car it was too loud and drony.Cheers
Thanks for that. So if my friend say a WRX is louder than my NA, that wouldn't be right then? Cause I think my NA sounds more piercing under lead foot of mine without cats and strait thru muffler. Whereas the WRX just simply purrs away.
It depends on the exhaust...... you can still get "loud" exhausts for turbo cars. Have a listen to WYKKEDS or Blipmans when he presses the go pedal. Or ask chickenbum about how loud his exhaust was. However, I think that the exact same exhaust swapped between a turbo car and a NA car, will sound louder on the NA. Not necessarily nicer, but louder.
