Mandrel bends are like $20 a piece for crying out loud!

Typical CHILI garbage, always waits until the end of a thread to start a flame war with me just for the sake of it. Considering how much some of you piss away on junk, to even consider that buying your own mandrel bends at $20 a pop is enough to break the bank is just so stupid I dont even know where to begin.

This thread speaks for itself, it gave alot of people a good laugh for the most part. The evidence is there for people who actually read instead of just looking to argue for the sake of arguing because I stole their lunch.

 

Press bends are fine if your after an upgrade in the exhaust system.

If you want MAXIMUM power and efficiency, you cannot beat the smooth laminar flow of mandrel bends. Care to disagree? I'd love to see you prove me wrong.

There will always be people laughing at other forums, not every person with a Z or a modified car is an engineer, not everyone knows how to improve a cars breathing efficiency, I have a mate "into" cars as he likes to think, but really at the end of the day, all he knows how to do is take wheels off and paint them......

Those with poorly designed exhaust systems without enough ground clearance or cars that are insanely low, yeah!

The horse has well and truely bolted on this one man. After all what the hell does every single turbo expert in the world know. Aslong as people on here say it's so then that's the end of that! lol The 4" mandrel bent exhaust systems on badass GTRs are just for show after all. Who needs exhaust flow?

To a certain point sure. But sometimes when it comes to basic stuff like this where there is oodles of sources to concurr what I said (even the sources people here included themselves) then it just gets silly.! Then you got guys like CHILI who always comes in at the end of a thread just to start shit with me for the fun of it without having anything real to say at all.

To top it all off some say it's great for people on a budget. What the hell? As I said you can source mandrel bends CHEAP, maybe less money on the bling bling and more on the zoom zoom is what's needed around here.

 

All this shit canning aside that article does have a few flaws.

The major one that has already been pointed out is that it states a 90 degree mandrel bend flows better than a 45 degree one.

Aside from that they are only testing one bend at a time. Off the top of my head my 3" mandrel bent exhaust has 5 bends each side, one of which is 90 degrees, I think if you added it all up it would make a noticeable difference.

Indeed, I bought all my mandrel bends (3) for a total of $35. I welded my own exhaust piping and had a 3" mandrel bent exhaust catback including muffler for $130. Nothing is impossible.

Some people talk like I'm pulling all this from my ass, the sources are all out there about this. It's not like I have two identical cars, one with a press bent exhaust (thanks to the stupid previous owner who probably read this forum) and the other with a mandrel bent exhaust. It's not like I get 1-2 extra psi of boost at the stock setting on the mandrel system simply because it's all breathing better. It's not like the throttle is more responsive or anything like that. I have no basis for comparison about this what so ever, I'm making it all up and trying to pass it off as fact. Riiiiiiight...
