Shouldnt be a problem with engineering!

Providing it is engineered properly. VG30DETT capacity in regs 3 litres x 1.7 factor for turbos = 5.1 litres so you are not increasing the capacity much to 5.7 or 6.0 litres. Rego may use a different factor I think for turbos.

yeah it works on weight of the vehicle. i think we can go to around 4.5. F.I or up to around 7L N/A !!!

I've looked into this. From what I can find from the legislation you need to get the NA engine approved first (upto 7L or something crazy) then get another modplate for the turbo system. Worst part is the emissions testing...

getting the info on the emissions is the hard part. I think the requirements are to have all the factory emisison gear in place. Then all u gotta do is stay under4.5% Co. on a rolling road.

Any car thats over 4.5% Co. desperately needs a tune so i think most people would piss it in

7L NA  so you could have a ls1 with a 434 stroker kit and l92 heads and a massive cam and it could be legal! hahahaha imagine pulling up next to some bogan with that under the hood.

Im so glad this cars in perth i really want to see it!

I am also one who is frothing at the mouth in anticipation to see all the hard work that has gone into this car. Mate you should consider hosting an 'Open day' for people to view it :) If i had a big house (or my own house for that reason) i would offer a as a host.

    Supurb effort.

Dont wanna bump an old thread..but, how much we looking at for this type of conversion?

including, sourcing engine, wiring / installing at a workshop?

instalation at workshop will be your killer.. youll be looking at well over 20G.. there are so many time consuming tid bits that you couldnt even dream of that if your paying someone by the hour to do it.. :bash:

    20G!

    20g...****

i know its a V8 but, damn... thats just roughly fitting costs... not mentioning the cost of the engine itself
if you having an open day ill be happy to open my house up for it

yeah id say 100 to 150 hrs labour, plus parts and engineering

Not certified transport engineers... You need 5 years of relevant industry experiance to get the magical piece of paper to be able to sign off on mods. I looked into it, too hard unfortunately :(

with a motor swap you'd have to or else the numbers wont match when u try to rego it. Not to mention the legal side of things...........

lol yeah.. get caught wrapped around a tree with an engine that shouldnt be in the car and see if the insurance compaines will pay for your wheel chair

or the ferarri you backed into

Well the dyno figures are in and WELL over 600RWHP and TOTALLY undriveable :D

Just a quick clean up of everyones assumption that this motor is in my own Zed, of course it's not but it's the groundwork for something that will happen in due course. I guess the bidding for my old motor will start soon enough, as well as the three motors I've got spare for parts, but that will help fund the evolution of my Zed some more. Heh heh heh...
