Well after a nice much needed holiday from the forum I thought it was about time to slowly make my way back....

Most on here these days never actually seen my zed driving as its been on blocks for the good part of the last 3 years... I've had other more important things going on..

unfortunately this meant that i accidentally let the rego lapse... *sigh..... that and a few engine issues, rework of the kit again causing another respay with instyles booked in for later this year, illegal window tint etc etc, lets just say going ove the pits would have been a very expensive, time consuming and just pain in the ass job....

And at the end of the day 90% of the mods (besides the obvious body work) were bolt ons that are easierly removed... So as sentimental as I am... (trust me i am, i thought i'd never get get rid of the shell... we had been through so much over the last 6 years)

But the smartest, cheapest and efficent thing for me to do was to buy a TT and swap all the parts over... respray was booked in anyway so can just paint the new zed green again.... oh yes... the green will live on :D...

So now the transformation begins.... I have a trailer (litterally) of parts to install...
    NA rear sub frame
    Manual conversion
    New heads
Every adustable piece of suspension out there
chromed/Polish plenums, pipes, alternaters, PS pumps, brackets, tubes, etc
    exhaust
    leather seats/interior
    Bonnet
    front bar

For now the zed is silver and will be polished up and kept that way til the respray... but besides the kit everything else should be on within the month or 2 so i can be cruising come summer time...

The subframe, manual and heads will be put on when i hire a hoist out in about a month... will need a few extra hands to help with that to get it done in a day.. but should be an easy job... :p

So.... after going through some old hdds of scotties i found his video of the end of the original zweett so i thought id do the same...

But this is more the life of my zed... oh how so much has changed over the years....

I like grren. Brocolli is green. Are you really sure you want it green again?

Silver Zeds are classy, like the one in the famous, 'So I'm having this dream" ad.

the thought has crossed my mind, old girl saw the silver and likes it much better than the green... but then i see the bumper of something in the sun and its like.. mannnnn that colour was awesome!

you never even saw it in the flesh from memory lol..

ive got a few months to decide anyway

    The swap

So what do you do on an average weekend?

step 1.... remove new engine lit only by an iphone 4 light unless grinding under the car when the only light is from the sparks coming off what you are grinding..... thats perpetual energy isnt it?

step 2.... sell the 1 major tool you need to move all your parts around.. the ute

step 3.... lift the car up and shake it til everything falls out

step 4.... spend 4 hours trying to get 1 manifold bolt off

step 5... get a gas axe

step 6... dont bother with an engine crane when you have a forklift

step 7... dinner with a hint of engine seasoning from your thumb print

step 8... insert tab engine into slot bay

    step 9... look puzzled

step 10... sleep like a baby after pulling 2 engines out.. swapping turbos, installing 1 engine, swapping rear subframe, manual conversion in 20 hours.
