i have found a zed for sale and it seems to be pretty good condition and great price but it needs to transfered to SA registration which means going over the pits
i was just wondering if someone knew where to find the requirements/regulations of a TT 2+2 as i dont want to buy the car and then run the risk of having to spend more money on it
i have tried to ring the transport company and they told me that the car would just have to go for an inspection and then any bad points found will neeed to be fixed and then taken back again, but ideally would like to try and avoid that situation

If it is a grey import and it dose not have a Aussie compliance plate you may have lots of problems doeing a inter state rego transfer I would check with rego legal department first..In NSW now it is imposible to do without the original import paperwork.

i would assume it would have an australian compliance as it was registered in another state but since being in Sa has not been re registered

    How game are you?

I have bought quite a few cars/bikes from interstate and brought them back without having to go over the pits even once. This is done by by having a police inspection done in a country area. Too close to Adelaide and yes, you will have to go over the pits, but if you can get it police checked in say Port Augusta(maybe Mount Gambier) then you are clear for rego, easy as.

It costs something like $10 to change your driver's license address (then change it back again), plus fuel to said country area and it's taken care of.

The last 3 times I've taken vehicles from interstate to have a police check (including 2 Z's) they didn't even find the engine number, just took the number from the papers I supplied. Yup, that easy.

    Just thinking outside the square.
