I've heard these are notoriously difficult to get off. If you have a new one, just get a Stanley knife and run it down the length until you cut through to metal. Then just peel it off.

Just done my hand brake handle on the week end.

If you want to save the old one then this is the process I took.

On the end of the handle there is a metal ring that sits around the button. You need to slide this over the button. I used a small flat blade screwdriver and a small hammer to shift it as there is a recess that it sits in to retain it.

Once you have slid this over the button you need to slide a thin screwdriver or a blunt knife down between the handle of the brake lever and the hand brake handle as mine looked like it been glued. Once you have done this the handle should simply slide of. I used a piece of wood at the rear end of the handle and a small hammer just to get it moving.

I am sure you should be able to work out how to install the new one.

    All the best.
