    Without reading all the other posts. I just replaced a barrel in VT commodore. When you buy it. You get 4 or 5 shims of each number (1-9 altogether 36-45 shims or something) and the shims are assembled into the tumbler in the order depending on which key you want to use. I do not think this number is a key code written down/stamped on any parts per say. Except on the internal shims themselves. In which case to retrieve the code you need to dismantle the tumbler and write them down in the order they are assembled. But this is in a commodore.

    Also the white thing is just housing for the globe. Not sure about the number. Mine is different. It could be the key code but that would surprise me.

    If you had just asked me if this number means anything, we might have said;

    Hexadecimal value for 911131 (HEX): 0DE71B
    could be a batch number?
    or it could be a pantone paint colour, but that doesn't seem relevant.

    Are you sure that it is referring to the key and not the keyless entry fob?

    I reckon he needs your code to steal your car.

    I'm starting to think that your key may not have been cut correctly on one side. I'm not a locksmith but with the GMH tumbler there is 2 rows of shims. If the shims were at fault the key would probably not turn at all. It may be possible to have one key cut to the original pattern on one side to both sides and another from the other side of the original. Ie. You have 2 sides to the original. A & B. Lets call it AB or BA. Have one cut AA and one cut BB. ???

    I believe the code in the glovebox is a sticker on the inside of the glovebox which is usually missing.

    If it was still there then you would see it when the glovebox is open.
