Just got this in the post from Japan

I just like to say what a smart operator this guy was. He wrapped it in gift paper put Happy Birthday on the packing slip and put a value of $20 on it. Customs did even take a second look.:zlove:

I just got a box from Coz that was the size of a fridge. I didn't get charged any customs either. Has anyone one here ever been charged customs?

With the FTA, the most you can expect to pay

through customs is 10% (for GST) from the USA.

I got a letter from customs for my stereo and bits for my car...

When I imported my car the dealer took the stereo and gauges out and posted them to stop them being stolen.
Got a letter from customs and had to go in to collect the parcel and show them the doco for the car so I didn't pay Duty/GST...
Can't remember what the declared value was but not very much....

300k speedo

If you don't mind me asking, how much you paid for the cluster? I would like a 300k speedo, but 900 odd bucks for a new nismo one is a little more than i had in mind.

 

But then you'll need to change your signature

You should be able to find just the 300km face and then have the speedo recalibrated.

Everyone who purchased the iDials needed to have that done. Also, someone a while ago was selling the standard style face, white writing on black (300km) for around $80 but he only had a limited amount.

Nismo Speedo

Hi All,

I have the exact same one in my car and must say its a great speedo to have.

If I get the right $$$ i might consider swapping it with an original 180kph one plus a cash adjustment.

I had to pay a governent tax to get my NOS kit released from customs this w

as because it came from canada. It was around 100 bucks but i wasnt fussed seeing I got it so cheap. Never had to pay tax on anything else though.

I was talking to a guy doing Customs broking , I'm sure he said the value must be more than a Grand b4 you start paying duty.. I'm not a zillion% on that but thats what I remember..

I'd love to get a nismo set of dials, its either that or some indiglo ones and recalibrate my speedo.
