Hi guys, sorry for a basic question. My TT low beam drivers side has stopped working today. High beam fine. Just wondering if the local Nissan dealer will have replacement globes. The Jap low beam is very weak. Will Aussie replacement ones be the same brightness. Or will the lights look different to oncoming traffic?

    Thanks John.

jspec lowbeam your looking for a H3C bulb 55W.

unless someone done the conversions to H3... if it has 2 prongs off the bulb its H3C, if it only has a piece of wire its H3.

Go to an auto shop like supercheap etc. and, depending on whether you need H3 or H3C, get something like the philips diamond white or whatever they are called. They are heaps brighter than stock and will save you $$$ and trouble over HID's.

just remember mate when buying halogen bulbs the blue ones are illegal... i think anything over 6000K is too blue?

there is a few diff types all depends on your price and any auto barn/supercheap/repco can get in the bulbs. theres also some cheapies on ebay if you really want :D

Your low beams are probably weak from dirty lenses inside the headlight. You can give the lenses a quick clean with some cloth on a stick and some glass cleaning fluid of some sort (take out bulb for access). The low beams use H3c bulbs, but they can be hard to find. If you are prepared to spend half an hour making up some adaptor wire and attaching it to the head light chassis you can also use the more easily found H3 bulbs (see the tech section for instructions)

My passanger side low bean blow of me last week, so i went down to Burson's and asked for a H3C they had 1 in stock but they claimed u could only get them in a clear globe not the artic blue the j-specs have standard from japan.

The light cost me $18 from Bursons
TTZ have them as well for $38.58 but im not sure if they are clear of blue globeshttp://www.ttzed.com/products/products_detail.cfm?CFID=30905823&CFTOKEN=46063542&cat=53&grouping=3&grouptitle=Nissan%20OEM&PartID=254&page=1&title=OEM%20Lamps%20%26%20Lights&do=detail

I intend to replace the drivers side with another clear H3C from bursons soon just so i dont have 1 blue light and 1 white light headlights.

Why don't you just do the wiring conversion from the tech section so that you can use standard H3 globes available everywhere?

All I can find today in H3C 55W for low beam are Narva. $19.40 each from Burson. I think Autobarn also had these but at a higher price. Sadly none of the performance Phillips Vision Plus are made in this type.

    4300K low beam H3C @ $89 pair

    4700K high beam @ $4.99 each

    4350 to 4500K Superwhite high beam @ $12.99

Sadly not mechanically minded so converting H3C to something else is beyond me. But the display at Autobarn makes the improved Phillips globes look very effective.

Have you had a good look at the tech article? It really is well written with clear simple steps to follow. If you really didn't think you were capable, then organise a tech day - someone will be able to do it. Can't recommend this mod enough.

Hi Col.. I did go and have a look at the IB report on modifying H3 globes and took it down the auto elec. He's going to do this tomorrow. Returned the Navra H3C globes in exchange for Phillips BlueVision H3 12 55W 4000K. At my local Autobarn they had all the Phillips globes on display. The Vision Plus were very hard to look at (3600K) and harsh on the eyes. These BlueVision should be much easier for motorists coming the other way. Only another $19 over the Navras. Plus the cost of the auto elec,

But like you I hate doing half the job on one off jobs like this. With winter coming looking forward to decent lights. With high beam (do very little night country road driving) will probably stick with the H3C types and buy a pair off Ebay from the above links to have a set on hand if I need them. Thanks for your post.

    IB ?????

Better off modifying the headlight as in the other headlight tech.

Hi Ian..yes I was thinking (in my case) everytime you blow a globe it would be back down the auto elecs and a fairly expensive ongoing solution. Thanks for your post.. will try and run with your revised methodolgy. Well done:)
