You clearly have no concept of the things you are whining about.

Fact: You were driving an "unroadworthy vehicle"(under the State Regulations in your State)with respect to the proper fitment of tyre size.

Fact: The Police DO NOT have the authority to assign or alter the prescribed "loss of points" associated with proscribed Traffic Offences(that is written into the Schedule of Demerit Penalties and can only be over-ruled by a Court).

Fact: You need to start taking some responsibility for your own shortcomings, instead of trying to shift the blame onto other parties. YOU broke the Traffic Laws, YOU should pay the Penalty(or contest it in Court).

I dont know Chilli.... You're the guy who was certain that since my exhaust which comes out the rear of my car is Illegal because it is at a bit of an angle but my ADR approved certificate seems to say otherwise :D

FACT: An exhaust is not illegal if it is angled towards the kerbside and it exits from the rear of the vehicle.

    Sorry for the Hi-jack ;)

    Infringement Notice! are they serious!!

Read the thread about an Infringement Notice! due to tyre size, I am amazed how the laws are so different between countries.

I watch a programme on Sky TV here in the UK about New Zealand traffic cops and have seen how they stop cars for having low / hard suspension and seem to give real large fines for this, but when a drivers is caught drink driving they only get a 6 months ban!

Closer to the UK in France there are rules preventing tuning cars beyond the manufactures power levels and suspension designs, so although there is a petrol head following its more based on bodykits etc.

Here in the UK the laws are more concerned with driving offences such as speeding, the whole country seems to have been overrun by Gatso and digital camera`s, having said that in recent years many local councils have been turning them off as stats are suggesting they do not stop accidents and are seen by many as cash machines for the police who always suggest they do not get the revenue....not directly of course.

Drink driving though is dealt with very heavily and so it should be, 1st dd offence is 1 to 18 months ban, 2nd offence 2 to 4 years ban and if caught a 3rd time in less than 6 years then it is a 10 year ban.

The only car related issue the police have started clamping down on is tinted side windows that do not pass a test with a special tint master unit, must pass at least 70% of the light through, most guys tinting their windows want limo side and rear which lets less than 30% light through, having said that if you remove it there and then no action is taken.

Private reg plates or ones with different fonts are frowned on too.

So in the whole you can do what you want here to your car, low as you want, tuned up as much as you want etc. hopefully will stay that way.

It's illegal in NSW, unless the exhaust exit is below the height of the kerb & guttering(and you are correct, this is completely off topic and should be removed by the moderators).

While I agree with most people here that often the cops seem to have a chip on their shoulder, I also find that Chillie has a very valid point, the fact you are asking about newer placards than your car came out with to legetimise your tires says to me that you have acknoweledge that the tires are in fact oversize, also all the other comments Chillie made are also rational and correct, my issue is that they are also nitpicking idiot laws, however as pointed out they are laws and untill removed we need to abide by them.

I do not agree with these laws and believe they are nothing but blanket kneejerk reactions that idiot do gooders have implemented to get "hoons" (read anyone who wants to modify their car because we all only want to go way too fast while totally inebriated) off the road.

    FACT!

Fact: ask the germans how their higher speed correlates with road fatality.

Fact: Speedos can be calibrated, so counters all your inane points.

Fact: the constant changing up and down speeds is very dangerous combined with cameras every where people arent watching where they are going

Fact: old people sitting in the left hand land lane doing 75-80 on the princess highway down to the gong which is 110 (folks of lloyds generation) are not only pains in the arse but are hazardous.

Fact: masterbation doesnt send you blind, if it did lloyd would have lost his licence long ago cause his last post like many of his others are a bit of a wank.

I could easily defect your Z

Sounds a bit hypocritical if you ask me.
You know the laws, why are you knowingly driving an illegal vehicle? *cheeky laugh*

Hasn't been "pinged" in 12 years of ownership(and the only "illegality" is adjustable U/C arms). It's been over the pits(without being rejected)so that's good enough for me.
Hypocrisy is not confined to people nicknamed CHILI, is it(don't look now, your prejudice is showing)?:eek::p

I was merely having a giggle.

You'd think non ADR suspension components would be more of a safety issue then the OP's infringement.

Yeah he no doubt didn't pass the attitude test but no reason to be holier then holy.

I think your tension rods would also be illegal, and I do believe they frown on any after-market EMS.

To get picky, even a one piece tail-shaft might be technically illegal.
Your windscreen surround must be black not shiny. :)

I could defect just about every Z on the forum. But you know all the laws so very well and always carry on like a saint.

Don't throw stones when you live in a glass house.
Yes, exact definition of a hypocrite with all due respect.

I'm well aware that your post was "tongue in cheek"(perhaps mine was too subtle by comparison):zlove::rofl::rofl:

Meanwhile, I'll just return to this forum filled with law-breaking, homicidal, car-modifying maniacs(perhaps we can do a Poll on "How many members have modifications on their outrageously illegal Z32's"?:rofl::rofl::rofl::br:

  14. Egg

    Egg ....

    I take it...

...you will promptly be removing the illegal items from your Z Mr Chili?

I'll check the legality of your EMS and tail-shaft if you'd like.
Also deleting standard equipment is often frowned upon... HICAS?

    1 front UCA's
    2 tension rods
    3 rear uppers
    4 windshield surround

The law is not open to your discretion as you no doubt know being a former officer, and you are well the first 3 items I bring to your attention are illegal.... the 4th perhaps you were not aware.

Your vehicle is un-roadworthy, not insured and technically not registered.

Yeah I'm being cheeky, I know you check your suspension components religiously to ensure there is no issues... and this is the issue with these components as they require constant inspection, and governments rightly consider most motorists are beyond doing this. Or they sell their car to someone who doesn't inspect the rose-joints and they cause a head-on collision when they pound out and snap.

You're flogging a dead horse, matey.

You are pointing out issues which have been discussed on here for at least 11 years. This has not hindered the increasing use of the items you mention, by most members of this forum.
I have been a staunch supporter of HICAS for most of my zed ownership(but due to the constant ridicule of Non-HICAS devotees, I recently decided to see what difference it would make). The answer(from my perspective) ZERO.
Interestingly, my car did not have functioning HICAS when first purchased by me(due to the HICAS fluid lines being squashed flat by some idiot being careless with a jack. I later fixed this by purchasing a pair of lines from WYKKED, who apparently removed his(shock, horror).
As I was the first registered owner of this vehicle in Aust.(it was complied in QLD a few weeks prior to my ownership)it came with the silver mouldings that I assume you call "windscreen surrounds"(although, try as I might, I can't associate them in any way with such a description, seeing as they DO NOT surround the windscreen). My "windscreen surrounds" are black rubber, as are all Z32's that I have ever seen.

Good luck with your campaign against ALL modifications(including NISTUNE etc, etc).LOL.

    Egg ....

    Makes no difference...

...how many years we've been discussing things on this forum it is still ILLEGAL!
As an experienced ex police officer you're no doubt well aware that just because others do something it does not change the law... you have no right to pick and chose what laws you chose to follow. The first three items I bring to your attention make your car un-roadworthy, uninsured and cancels your vehicles registration.

My statement regarding HICAS was a simple open question, the law does not like people removing standard equipment from their vehicles, I'm not completely sure if deleting the HICAS is illegal, though suspect it is. You have a 'duty' to check legalities before modifying your vehicle. Same applies to your stand alone Microtech EMS.

On your A-pillar you have a modified or sun damaged trim, it is against the law to have a shiny finish on this trim due to safety concerns that this may blind a fellow motorist if the sun reflects into their eyes, it was encased in black rubber from the factory for a reason besides aesthetics!

I have no campaign against modifications whatsoever, I simply find it amusing that the one person who constantly takes the moral high ground regarding the law on this forum is a hypocrite and knowingly breaks the law whenever it suits himself.
No mistake, you are knowingly breaking the law not merely ignorant.

Thanks for that little rant. Does it make you feel better now that you have exposed yourself for the mean-spirited, bitter little twerp that you obviously are.
Your pathetic attempt to score some meaningless points against me has shown just what an untrustworthy blabber-mouth you really are.
If I was ever in doubt of that fact, you have removed that doubt. You must be highly rated as a friend by all those fellow Z32 owners who can now expect to be denounced for anything you feel to be advantageous to your ego building exercise.
Tell me how many of your fellow members have similar mods on their cars(and how soon you will be naming & shaming them on this open forum).

Oh BTW, in the past 11 years of Z32 ownership, NOT ONE SINGLE ITEM that you have eluded to(on MY car), has ever been questioned or found to be unsafe by the relevant authorities in this, or any other State.
For the record, ALL of the modifications mentioned, have been revealed to my vehicle insurer and have not resulted in any reduction to the validity of my insurance cover(but why ruin a good whinge by sticking to the facts).

I'll leave it to others to assess your motives and your real, or imagined worth to this forum and it's many "at risk members"(now that you have shown your true colours).

Ebenezer Scrouge has nothing on you, you jerk.
