    Hey guys,

    anyone able to recommend someone to install a Mongoose M80 in NE Melbourne?
    I have the unit, just need the install done from someone reputable. However seeing as I've just moved to melbourne recently, my local knowledge is somewhat lacking.

    Cheers for the assist!

    Get in touch with Billy (aazn) as I'm sure he would be able to do it for you however he isnt from the north. Whereabouts you located?

    I'd do a write up, however wouldn't make it public since it would be a thief's cheat sheet :O

    Some tips;

    The install is quite straight forward, just soldering, heat shrinking, cable management, black tape (to make everything look factory) is all that is really needed.

    Don't put all your points of immobilization under the steering column either, very easy for a thief who is hot wiring to work out the 12v constant and tap into your ignition harness at a later stage (after your points of immobilization).

    Put your dash LED also high up (I suggest on the dash pad above the cluster). It'll light up your whole interior when your car is in the dark and most likely scare away most joy riders.

    Lastly, if you are installing a door actuator (remote locking), take out the rod that connects your drivers door lock barrel as when thief's try old school scissor and screw driver tricks to unlock the door it'll do nothing at all.

    This was my best friend during the installation;

    NOTE FOR 90' MODEL: I think the 1990 model uses black/yellow trace as the main starter wire.

    Be pro-active though and get your security system hooked up. very very easy to steal a Z32 (especially early models).

    Cheers mate, yeh it'll be getting installed pretty soon. Car has just had a fair bit of money and effort put into it so if it got stolen it'd just kill me. If I took the rod out of the door does that stop the keys from working in the door?
