Hi everyone. I had 300 fix after an over heating incident and had the entire bypass hoses replaced. It was running fine and one day I went to start and it failed...I though it was flooding as I smelt fuel so I keep cranking it and eventually started. This happened a few times but always got going... The other day it happened again but this time it would not go...I held the accelerator down fully to open the throttle bodies and the got it going. It was producing heavy white smoke. Would not idle smooth, up and down revs. I gave a little gas to get it idling smooth but it was making a deep soft popping noise The smoke turned black and liquid from the exhaust. If I held the brake in it almost dies and if I put it in gear it hold on but eventually dies... I need a timing belt could this be the issue of some think more. Also it an 91 Auto with magna flow exhaust Thanks for you help... the somke turned black and liquid from the exhaust. if i held the brake in it almost dies and if i put it in gear it hold on but eventually dies.. i need a timing belt could this be the issue of some think more. thanks for you help..
Yep, sounds electrical fuel smell indicates it's obviously getting that but not burning it. I'd try checking error codes first, then a breakdown test to check all your spark plugs are working/getting spark - then go from there.
