Well I've been busy with A LOT over here with getting the shop tweaked and taking care of customers here and abroad (Jesse your heads are shipping out next week!!! ). But through all this time in getting things moving I got a chance to build an engine for a customer in South Carolina who will be running some HKS 2530s. He got a lot of things done to this engine that I was happy to be able to incorporate into his build. He originally had a shop in his area do the shortblock work for him but upon receiving it back from his local shop he soon found out after I did a look over for him that A LOT was missing and not done right. So the engine was put on a pallet and headed down to my shop to undergo a full freshen/rebuild. This customers build list is as follows: EP Racing Prepped Block Balanced Crank Polished Crank Tigged Center weight Wiseco 88mm Pistons Eagle Rods New restrictors/check valves Brass Freeze plugs Cometic HG Ferrea 1mm oversized valves JWT HD springs Z1 HL 14 Cams Ferrea Retainers Viton High Temp seals EP Racing Street Port Cylinder heads EP Racing Modified Lower Plenum ARP Hardware AMS Manifolds Clevite Rod/Main Bearings EP Racing Crankscraper/Windage Kit EP Racing Piston Coating Service EP Racing Bearing Coating Service EP Racing Manifold Coating Service EP Racing Turbine Housing Coating Service EP Racing Exhaust Port Coating Service EP Racing Combustion Chamber Coating Service EP Racing Exhaust Manifold Porting Service EP Racing Cylinder Bore Coating Service EP Racing Ported Oil Pump I can't remember the rest..lol Anyways here are a few pics of this customer engine from start to final long block assembly... As always...thanks for viewing...I'll have more engines to post soon enough!
Thanks for sharing, it looks the goods, make sure you update with dyno sheets or 1/4 mile times if u get them. Would be good to see!
built motor yeah me to, I just got a set of these turbos and i need a tough moter like this to go with them. can you give me a rough idea of the cost to build it with parts and labour, thanks mate.
Stupid quesiton Mitch... What are you measuring here? And how would you change anything if it was out?
have you seen the thread regarding the ACL bearing oil groove not lining up correctly? just curious if the clevites are the same http://www.aus300zx.com/forum/showthread.php?t=307097
I'm measuring true top dead center to check to see where the piston is in relation to the deck. I always do it to check my calculations on my surfacing to get my piston to deck properly set. There is a lot to be said in having the right figure in checking where the piston sits in the hole.
customer told me he's having it tuned next month. I can only hope he gets it done and posts his feedback. He contacted me not too long ago with some minor issues with boost leaks and such. Outside of that I'm just waiting for his input from his tune and so forth. He has all the right parts and so forth and the build is pretty stout. The only thing I would have suggested to him would be to increase his camshaft profile to something a bit larger and he needs to bump up to 3" exhaust and so forth. I believe he's getting his 2.5" IC piping done/installed soon as well. Only time will tell.
you may want to add me on facebook then if you like the pics. I have every build and project I work on posted on there. lots of progress pics posted and so forth. search my email address if you'd like tech@epracing.net
