okay i am thinking of buying a TT 300zx and was wondering should i pull out the hcas system, if my purpose of using the car is for track/drifting?

please let me know what you think. and tell me whats better for these purposes, to do with my car to be. and some help ful tips to lighten the car, as i know their like boats at the moment.

    thanks heaps Regards Shaun

Generally, replace all bushes on all the linkages front and rear with urathane type.
Platform adjustable coil/over's with bump-rebound adjusting are important for what you want and
upper tower strut bars front and rear. Also add front caster, rear torsion, front
and rear camber adjustable pillow ball joint arms and new adjustable front and rear
sway bars. And then a lock bar for the Hicas, with the removal of all associated
hydrolic lines to reduce weight. Zeds are not boats, but after 15 or so years these
parts start to wear, so replacing them makes a huge difference to how it performs.

mate get rid of it for sure. the hicas makes the car extremely unpredicable as the angle of the rear wheels change direction at about 80km/h. so when your goin slow it helps your turning circle, and while speed increases it attempts to keep to car straighter while merging etc. the rears only move like 5 degrees, but you can feel it if your sliding. it was made for safety, but when you push the limit an unpredicable car is far from safe. you can get a hicas eliminator bar from ebay for like $150

mate drive the car and see what you think, ive got a TT with hicas and it drifts like a bastard . i can easily control 140k slides in the dry and i dont profess to be an expert. dont listen to the propellor heads

also remove the hicas if you want to lighten the car, all up the system weighs about 15 kg.

change the stock seats to lightweight race seat, the stock seats are HEAVY. if you're a serious racer, remove anything to do with air con and heating etc etc. the a/c compressor weighs about 7kg itself. tear up all the carpets and remove the sound deadening fluff and remove carpet mats. probably about 5kg there. keep going with things like that, my car has lost 150kg of weight from stock.

on the hicas note, we have 2 lock bars in stock, $150 pickup :D
