Lol, sorry i was hinting at the fact you should get a microtech ecu and use in replacement of the nissan unit. As they use map sensors. Does away with all the pita aux components that allow the nissan ecu to function correctly. O2's including.

As for your issue, i'd hit the PTU and look it over. Check your injector and coil pack plugs, boost leaks (probably not) and if not the condition in which your spark plugs are in. The balance tube has to come off for this job, so also check and or replace the orings that seal this, as they can cause idle issues and hesitation ect. Had the problem on my black zed. This was after replacing the orings too. They melted =/ Shit quality orings. Not designed for the heat range/heat soak. It gave me an annoying miss/hesitation etc.

TWD on hold, thats cool. Just like to keep it fresh in my mind so not to forget about it. Thanks for the update.

Yes you did RBZ, and I do thank you for that :p
However, I've been noticing it's doing the same thing it was before, but now only when it's cold. I'm a bit sick of these damn things too :p

well looks like it just shifted the problem elsewhere.

im bit pissed off now with mine. ill wait another hour to give it time to cool before trying it again.

Sanuske yeah i get what u mean but i've heard stories with aftermarket ones too.

i had a look at my PTU looks like its been reconditioned/repaired/chinese one. its not original. has this gray silicone potting in front of it. just read the tech side.

usually if this is the problem wont start or its droping one or more cylinder im assuming always if wire is broken off. mine seems to work ok after 3k rpm.
seems to work on 5cylinders. Thats what it sounds like.

cant concentrate at work keep thinking what could it be and if can i check it now/fix it :D

i just hope it comes good at least for half my trip home otherwise wont be looking forward to it.

just tried it again when it cooled down. problem still there.

    so its not intermittent problem.

if u give it few revs its running very rich and black smoke comes at the back.

if u rev it passed 3k seems to run good.

did have another look at the PTU. managed to squeeze the IC pipe and its genuine nissan part and looks fairly new.

now im thinking TPS or AFM. so not looking to drive home  but cant wait to get home and plug the laptop in it.

could it be injector stuck open or stuffed coilpack/plug?

I have a feeling you're going to be seeing your tail a lot.

Running around in circles looking for electrical gremlins.

    Not good fun.

As mentioned, coil pack plugs, injectors plugs, spark plugs, butt plugs, balance tube o rings, vac leaks, ptu (do a temporary swap with another - i can lend you a S1 PTU that was working upon removal)

Just other random not directly linking items like PCV valves and cracked hoses? Nothing like that? PCV is gummed open, cracked hose, 3000 rpm - lots of vacuum?

Thongboy, have you checked out your auto box? Done a diagnostic? Could there be a slippage happening? How reds the red oil?

I thought you solved it by running it rich and not having the O2's connected? Or have you since renewed them?

Maybe trace the wires back to the ecu and run a continuity test. There maybe a broken wire or a decaying wire in the line.

Maybe i should take the time to remake some engine bay looms.... i need a sample though.... I know we could do with a replacement for the blue zed for the futures rebuild.

    Food for thought.

Tried disconnecting my passenger side O2 sensor... solved the hesitation. Planning to leave it as is for a week and see how much my fuel comsumption will be. QUESTION: is it safe to leave it disconnected that long? I'm driving the zed everyday for approximately 40kms only whole day. And driving like a granny, that is... :)

post consult logs of the issue. log all the normal stuff, speed, tps, battery, tps closed switch, timing, injector duty cycle, o2 sensors, AFM

Pennyarvs do you have front indicators?

    Your bar looks so bare.

    Just an observation.

I do have front foggies/parkers combo and the indicators. Just photoshopped and experimented on that photo... :)
