so i picked up my altia panel from mosterimports last week and test fired it off my computer power supply, and the EL panel didn't fire up and the inverter buzzed. so based off what i had read i set about getting ready to bake it and change over EL panel. anyways was 1/2 way through baking it and mate came over and dragged me off to "belfast" (old school techno night), came home the next morning and thought i would give it another shot before i ordered the replacement EL panel, and EL panel fired up straight away and ran fine for over 6 hours attached to my computer (used connector and switch for inverter for UV ccfl). went to fire it up again today and it wouldn't light and inverter buzzed again, switch it on and off a couple of times and bout 4th time it lit up and has been running for 1/2hr before and as i typed this. so firstly, would the inverter from glowhut (from links in other altia threads here) work with what i am guessing is a stock EL panel, and secondly i just want to let everyone who may buy or already has an altia panel, the buzzing inverter doesn't always mean a fried EL panel and it is much easier to replace inverter than EL panel. also, am i right in assuming as the EL panel ran for over 6hrs straight it is fine and it is the inverter which is dead / dying.
I think you have answered your own question. BTW, is this a NEW Altia panel, or a used item? If new, then I would be contacting the seller(rather than wondering what to do next).
