hey guys i have a problem where the heat shields have come off(lowered car scraping a driveway) heat is coming up through the transmission tunnel and warming up the car. its a real pain in summer as well because my car is also black  i bought some heat wrap and hose clamps. is their anything else that i need? is it hard to remove the whole exhaust so i can wrap the exhaust thoroughly. cheers

    Wear rubber gloves

Cover up your arms, stop you itching and scratching after the job is done, also soak the bandage in water before applying (Keeps the dust down)
Only way to do it properly is to remove the exhaust.
Clamps are the best way to go, using a soft wire only works till the wire breaks and it begins to unravel.:(

Do you have your catalytic converter heat shield installed? It would be impossible to scrape this off without scraping your exhaust off altogther as it sits between cats and the tailshaft. It may have been removed, you might want to look at replacing it (buy a second hand one off a wreck) if it isn't there....

also it cannot be used on cast iron (stock dumps etc) so be careful.
