Has there been a Megawatt VG30?

    Hey guys anyone know if a Megawatt 1000Kw VG30 has been built and proven. I heard a rumor that someone in the states has made this power from one??????

    Too right. the very powerful Z1 convertible (pictured) needs approx 25% more HP to crack a kilowatt (killa-wasp ;) ). 1000HP = 745.7 kW.

    i would say based on your figures there that it would need an additonal 34% more hp to crack the kilowatt mark, rather than 25%

    Yeah. Having one of those days I'm afraid. I put 'approximately' to cover my arse in that regard, but +/- 10% is unacceptable. :eek:

    1000kw's from a VG? are you insane.

    It would be pretty hard for an enthusiast to pull it off.
    You should be coming close FORCFED :D.

    What engine is it? seen that vid millions of times, always assumed it was??

    As an aside does anyone know the power they were getting from the IMSA 300zx that raced in the early 90's? Apparently the VG30et out of the z31's in the IMSA 300zx of the late 80's was making upwards of 1000hp, cant find anything solid on the dett engine though.

    I was thinking about the toyota V12 from the toyota century limo... This was used in the top secret supra, and made 1000kW, but not sure on what mods :)

    a fairly reliable rumour on the Sunshine Coast has it, that K V, dyno tuned 2 1500hp VG30TT :eek: build cost was about the $100 grand for the two engines:eek: and I don't know what sort of racing the engines are for, or if the rumour is totally true...:confused:

    I'm sure if anyone is truly interested in that sort of power, they'd be prepared to fork out the money... I'm not sure what it would be good for

    Yeah i do... power is power, and im not sure you can even class that as 300zx anymore seeing as its a tube frame chassis.

    Haha we're in the same boat:cool: I've been looking all morning(uni holidays lol, lots of free time) and cannot find ANY more info on that car, im sure ive seen it elsewhere on the net but just cant find it... I did however find this which IS a VG30dett. Pulled a 6.5.
