A question for the engine gurus only(we know who they are),not people that think they know !! Will the stock t/t fuel pump max out with the following and should it be replaced with two 255ml Walbros Z1 gt600r turbos nismo 555 injectors AMS Max-Flow Manifolds AMS 3" Split DP and 3"-2.5" Resonated TP ams udp and full pulley kit lightweight flywheel metal cat high flows upgraded smic's lightweight 1 piece tailshaft gfb hybrid bov's greddy profec b spec 11 ebc nistune ecu upgrade
Fuel pump will be ok, just replace with new std pump. Injectors will be very close to max. I would be looking at 650-740cc injectors to give it a little head room.
A good rule of thumb for the TT's is 1hp at the crank per CC of injector flow. You do not really want to run the injectors over 90% for long periods as it greatly reduces thier life expectancy. 555's will be fine if you are keeping the power down, but I guess if you want that you wouldn't be looking at a 600 kit.
I will be running the existing stock pump with a fuel pressure gauge to see if the old girl is keeping up. If it isn't I will be replacing it with new OEM. http://www.z1motorsports.com/product_info.php?products_id=1555 The thing I have worked out yet is that in the USA all Turbo models were 2 seater. I'm pretty sure that the fuel pump for 2+2 is different to 2 seater and NA to TT may be different also.
Fuel pump flow rates are the same for 2 and 2+2. It is the way it is fitted and mounted that is different. NA use a different pump again.
simon just get a "new" stock fuel pump. dont run the old one on the new setup :vomit: dito on the injectors. depends what power u want to run though i guess. those 555's should be good for around 300rwkw...but ye depends wat power u want to run....
Why would you replace a $500 plus item that works ? Probably the same answer to why would you not replace something you borrowed and lost. Because you can ?
chad knows me ,i replace everything with new even if its working ,that way i know the history Some say i have too much money and no sense,i say its peace of mind and security
the denso 850cc injection or the nismo 740 .. either one will be fine .. 555 to small ooowwww yeah .... :vomit::vomit::vomit::vomit:gfb hybrid bov's:vomit::vomit::vomit::vomit::vomit::bash::bash::bash:
1. personally i would replace the fuel pump if i was going to pump that much power into the car. your talking a fuel pump here that prob has shit inside it from working for 20odd years. 2. stfu 3. kthanxbye
i know its off topic ey si how bout upgrading/replacing the oil pump too...keep the oil supply to the engine/turbos at a resonable rate and atleast you know you wont starve anything...plus you like to replace everything too
OK if you got the cash and the desire go for it. I will be happy with an inspection/clean and a new o ring for the the tank/pump. I will be having a fuel pressure gauge to check fuel pressure regardless, and a pair of EGT's to monitor any dangerous fuel shortages, as this possibility is a constant no matter the set up, no matter how new. In my experience failure of new electromechanical parts is higher in the first month then it is in the first 2 years. It could be argued that you are actually taking additional risk replacing with a new pump versus and existing working pump. Who knows i still may have to replace it but will do so as required.
Chad do you replace everything thats 20 years old regardless ? There you go Tekky there is your answer you will need to wait 20 years to get your jigs replaced. I just called Nissan and they dont have a part number for a Z32 complete car parts kit ? But i estimate it would be about $350,000 hmmm maybe i will look at the Ferrari instead.
For starters fuel pumps are rated in litres/hour, not mls... Why buy new stock when you can get higher flow for similar money? Twin pumps is overkill, big single is the way to go and available as "bolt on" kit. 555s will handle more power than you can expect to make with that setup. 740s better but more expensive to make them fit as you need series 2 rails (or aftermarket) and connectors.
