I see that most people with these turbos use the HKS ones as a replacement but can you use the ones off the stock turbos as they are smaller?
NO, Ask Jeremy why they are no good !!! He did a full rebuild and put the stock ones on to find they leak boost over 16 PSI. Stop trying to cheap out dude. The HKS ones are only $200 !!! It costs $1000 to pull the engine for gods sake.

damn simmo, i have the hks ones you could always shorten the arm on the stock ones (or just put a kink in em) to get a lil more pressure out of them
You have to preload the HKS ones quite a bit. For me to get over 20PSI, I had to preload them so much my minimum boost is 12.5PSI.
Hmmm Wonder what the ones on mine are that came with my GCG/UAS GT2860RS kit... They look reasonably small but don't have HKS written on them.

what are my options? i have hks turbos and stock actuators , how can i boost it past 20psi without taking the engine out to change the actuators over? (DONT WANNA HEAR WHAT U HAVE TO SAY GRAHAM)
Your not going to get 20psi out off the stock actuators, simple as that. Your options are external gates or engine out.
