I received a few unedited pics via email from my mate. Here they are for those interested. Also a quick pic I took yesterday of the bay. I've re-routed & relocated a few wires and plugs to give it a slightly less cluttered look. I'm not all for the full tucking (though I appreciate the time & effort), but I like to simplify where I can.
Ahhh I see you still have the mysterious clutch "line to nowhere". Loose it and neaten things up further. E

This is a very nice car. I have seen it in the flesh. Keep it up man you don't see many good condition 300's around.
Got my hands dirty today & spent a little time playing in the engine bay. Plan was to clean up the appearance of the engine and tuck/relocate some of the electrical connectors. The RHS of the plenum has a huge metal bracket & plastic sleeve that runs the length of the plenum (didn't take before pic). I removed this from my 2+2 & it makes the bay look a lot less cluttered. I'm not going to lie, it was a bit of a pain to remove but once it is you are left with this: (You can see the bracket that was removed sitting on the plenum). As you can see this leaves some of the wires exposed so some taping is required. Once the wiring was taken care of I relocated the connectors out of the way under the brake booster. As you can see, looks a hell of a lot cleaner with it gone: I also removed the metal brackets on the left hand side. I plan to convert the plenum to use studs for the balance pipe (like I had done on my 2+2). Then there is no chance of stripping the soft alloy thread when tightening the balance pipe. I simply cut the brackets off the hard-pipe with a cutting wheel. Still a lot of wiring on this side, but don't really want to remove the plastic sleeve from the main part of the harness at this point. I had already rerouted the TPS wiring previously: Lastly a photo of my little helper who gave herself a scare beeping the horn by accident haha:
Little update, but nothing exciting. Had time a couple weeks ago to finally removed the slogged out OEM FUCA. Video HERE that shows the amount of movement. The car didn't handle corners at speed well at all! Luckily I had a pair of good condition OEM FUCA in my stash of spare parts. I remember changing the FUCA being a lot more difficult, but it only took me 20 minutes to do both sides at a casual pace. Is always a little nerve racking when the bracket bolts finally crack loose! The replacement FUCA bolted to the brackets & ready to be installed. I can actually take corners at speed with some confidence now
Always nice seeing an update in your build thread Jono. So what are you doing for camber correcting if your running stock fuca's? 300Degree correction kit or just running a little camber?
Same can be said for your thread, Tim. Get crackin' No camber correction on the front. Just under -3 degrees in the front which doesn't bother me. I plan on getting some new wheels soon, so depending on what I get & how they fit might need adjustable arms then.
We've got a new born so while stuff worthy of an update is still happening it's taking a LONG time to complete... Definitely worth looking at the correction kit, they're pretty well priced & you could fit it now without having to wait for the new wheels to compel you. Still planning on some gts's or looking at other options? Some 18" bbs lm's or regamasters for look really nice on your zed mate
I understand that having a 4 month and 24 month old. I still love the Volk GTS, but rare to find. Came across some Volk GTC 18x9 ET19 and 18x10 ET35 but the bugger wouldn't ship them! Also toying with the ideal of getting some Work wheels. The Work - Emotion CR Kiwami aren't bad, but would be a tight squeeze with the offsets I'd want. The XD9 front offsets aren't aggressive enough for me. You can't go wrong with Meister but too common for my liking. I have been in talking with Advan about the GT series, but at $1100 a wheel I can't see that coming to fruition.
