Great Weekend, Great People What a fantastic weekend. It was great to meet so many Z owners. Looking forward to the next ""big event"". Congrats to all those who won awards.=) =) =)
This smile on my face may last 12 months But its not going to make it past that, and I don't really want to come down. Vote me in for "Annual Event". Probably a good time to launch an "Events Management Group" comprising of all members who would like to join the group to contribute. Remember: *** Many minds make light work". Need Members from all states as you need to understand the "needs and wants" of all people near and far. =) Maybe we can have a host city each time and they can manage that year, with the other state members being co-ordinators.(great ideas come out of what may seem silly, when others look at it they can expand and create what becomes a great idea!. ie. never disgard any suggestions!) PS: For those of you that don't know me,(yet!) if you are driving around and you see this gorgeous RedZed with this WildZedHead girl driving and she has the biggest smile you have ever seen before, then you will know "that will be me". :YD =) >D< Thankyou to those who put it on my face and in my heart.^D^ >D< 8D :-Z
Annual vs Biennial - reasons >>> I don't want to rain on anyone's parade - hell, I would love this to be an annual event as well ... BUT, there was a major reason for going biennial, which people may not be aware of. Every second year - 2001 (Vic), 2003 (Qld), 2005 (NSW) the various Nissan/Z clubs around Australia organize the Nissan "Z" Nationals, which is both a show'n'shine and Track Day based event. This event is open to all Nissans from the original Fairlady Sports through to 350Z's; and you also get a smattering of 1600's, GTR's etc. In that past this event has not been well supported by the Z32 fraternity - only 3 on track + a couple more in concourse in 2001, with numbers increasing to about 6 on track and 10 in concourse in 2003. With the increasing interest in track days and sporting events, especially in Qld and WA, imagine how great it would be for the Z32 to make a grand appearance on track and in show at Wakefield/Goulburn in 2005? Logistically, the Easter 4 day weekend is always going to be the best time of year to attract those who will have to drive 900km or more each way. The "Z" Nationals historically has always been every 2 years, at Easter. Given that track day interest amongst us is increasing, and given that a lot of the organising members behind Gilgandra would be attending the "Z" Nats for its track day element, and given the organisational input required (and the next National Z32 meet WILL be bigger), may I respectfully suggest that we stick to the current plan to alternate Easters with the "Z" Nationals. To get an annual National "Z" fix, simply join your local Nissan car club, get involved in the "Z Nats" in those years, and show the whole Z fraternity that the Z32 really is a car to be reckoned with.
Sooooo wasted I got a call at 11:30 this morning from work: "Where the hell are you?" I can barely keep my eyes open.Great weekend, I concur with all the sentiments here. Now, down to business. The write up on this is going to be a BASTARD! It will be big, long, have lots of photos and since no one person could be everywhere at once, will need to be written by a few people. Can I have some volunteers from each group to put something together, and can people with photos get in contact with me. Everyone will probably have photos of the shoot at the speedway and from the show and shine that will be all fairly similar, so I'm not after those, but after any other shots which there won't be a hundred variants of. Also, K-Zed I don't know if you got everyone with their Z but those would be nice to have. Also, for those who weren't there, we had some discussion about various aspects of the forum and its operation, Simon was jotting most of it down so I'll get that info off him soon and put it up for people to see what was discussed, what suggestions were put forward and what changes we will make based on them.Ben
Yep, Wykked has that I'd probably just get it wrong going off the top of my head, he has the list. For the People's Choice it was a 4 way draw!Ben

I knew exactly where you are! I had the privilege and honour of opening your door and personally assisting you, with all smiles, whilst parking your HotZed. Yes I NOW know you and your car. Mind you, it has been a pleasure Mr Blipman.:-Z
