can anyone recommend somewhere in brisbane to get stock turbos high-flowed? also, is it possible to get ball bearing cores put into them? thanks
I think quite a few people use Hypergear? i would go for gt28RS or 2871 to make it worth your while. Bennyc has seen 320rwkw with supporting mods. gibbon_tammer has made a bit more power with 2871 cores with supporting mods. have a search there is a fair bit of information i believe.
Speak to Eric, (a2zed) on here. If I was up in that part of Aussie land, thats who I'd go to. http://www.aus300zx.com/forum/member.php?u=8287 Mobile Number 0400 347 899 Cheers, Emile
And I wouldn't waste my time with high flows. Be a man and get the GT600R kit from Coz/Z1 or whatever supplier you like. Only a bit more than high flows and a lot better.
its quite a bit more to be fair, hypergear does them for 850 per turbo. and there are no additional expenses really. any of the 5 bolt kits are far from bolt on and are around $2300? plus shipping ,been a while since i checked prices.
i don't have the time, nor do i want to be ****ing around making stuff fit with one of those kits. i'm not chasing big power so the high flows will be just fine for what i want. thanks for your help though...
Suit yourself. But you'd be wise to at least call him and explain your situation, see what he has to say. MoulaZX
my situation is quite simple... i would like someone to recommend where to get my turbos high flowed, that's all.
i love those bolt on kits. remember the last set of 5 bolt ones you installed niall. there was hours of fab work to fit. When you get some prices let me know ferral panda!
I think the rudeness of you sir feral panda deserves one answer.... Get out the yellow pages and find out yourself.
People are trying to help Don't be so quick to fire up at some opinions of people who have been there made the mistakes and found the right way to do it. Or a cheaper but better alternative. Eric is the most knowledgeable (spelling) mechanic I know on here. So yes you would be doing yourself a favour to contact him. I bought a gt600r kit from Z1 and it was completely bolt on and drive. No mods whatsoever.
i just think he wants to find out where to get turbos high flowed, not convinced to spend extra cash on new units. High flows will see you up around the 350-400rwhp mark. I would expect to pay around 800-1000 per unit. matt
but when someone asks for recomendations for a turbo shop who can highflow turbo's, why tell him to call Eric for advice? he's made the decision to go with high flows so what good is advice.? so far in this thread there has been alot of input and very little in the way of actual recommendations. Id be interested in some places too since i have only ever used MTQ and found them to be a bit pricey
i love how the majority of you lot can't even answer my original question. i'm not looking for advice. i know who eric is and i don't want or need his advice. if i want high flow'd turbos instead of a 'bolt on kit' then let me get on with it. i'm well aware of all the other options out there so i don't need you 'experts' giving me your 2 cents. and to you daz, i wasn't being rude at all. i asked a simple question and you're a perfect example of how the thread has gone to shit. if you've got no recommendations then don't bother at all. thanks to the guys who pointed me in the right direction but i can see this thread was doomed from the start, so mods please delete.
Brisbane Tuning & Turbo Centre 17 Nile Street Woollongabba, QLD. They do high flows. Sorry for earlier post. Hope this helps
Also a very good place I have heard good things about is Mike vine turbochargers. They are on Redland bay road capalaba
