ok I fitted my new fuel filler cap is it illegal to not have the piece inside that reduces so only unleaded fuel pumps will fit.

Didnt think it was illegal, thought it was just illegal to use the fuel (leaded) in a unleaded car, not that that matters anymore anyways as there arent any pumps of leaded around anymore?

It's and ADR, and as such it needs to comply. It is now more about so you can fill up with diesel, and preventing splashing back.

Wouldn't go far if you filled up with diesel before it completely ****ed ya car lol maybe 2k's down the road?

maybe complete bullshit but, i read somewhere that a little, an i mean i little bit of diesel mixed with your petrol actually cleans your injectors

Doubt that as using low quality unleaded normally clogs them in the 1st place, using good quality high octane stuff does the opposite, and diesel is less refined than the lowest quality unleaded so.....

My filler cap was leaking on the new Z, I went down to the local compliance shop to get another as I slightly damaged mine pulling it out, they told me that they don't stock them any more as they are not required. There is no longer any leaded fuel available for sale in Australia.

    I had to repair mine.

id think that putting diesel into a petrol car wouldnt hurt it, it might block the injectors but simply put it your car just wont run or will run really crap because it can't ignite the fuel properly.
now on the other hand if you put petrol in a diesel engine now your going to get some serious detination.
i was told that it has to have the reduced splash gaurd if you upgraded an leaded to a unleaded like my 280zx, but i much like the idea of a bigger filler whole, it sh..annoys me in sports cars that the pump keeps clicking on ya while filling
