I give up, you're clearly a lost cause

Go drill holes in your 300zx hubs and bolt your rotors on and be happy :p

    Fark ......................

What is it about toys, kids and prams ..........

Are we actually talking rotors that are integral with the hub ..... like some early BMW's, Fords and Holdens, and the stub-axle nut retains the hub/rotor integral assembly onto the sub-axle. The wheel is retained against the hub-face by studs/nuts or possiblly retaining screws (in some BMW's)

Then we have a one-piece rotor which fits over the hub. This may (or may not be) incidentally secured to the hub by a set-screw but will in any event be clamped against the hub by the wheel - whether the wheel is secured to the hub by studs and nuts or by wheel retaining screws is immaterial

Then we have 2-piece rotors where there is a (usually aluminium) "hat" the goes over the hub and the flat rotor is retained aganst the hat by screws and k-nuts (that don't need a spring washer to stop them coming loose). These rotors are "fixed" securely to the hat and the hat retained against the hub by the wheel .....

Then we have a motorsport biased arrangement where the rotor has a small amount of freedom of movement relative to the hat. The rotor is retained to the hat by bobbins ... somewhere in te thread is a picture. The hat is retained against the hub-face by the wheel, .....

All this proves to me that email (and forums are another form of email) is a piss-poor mechaism for communication (and I don;t claim to be an expert communcator either) - I cite as evidence this and the previous thread.

I reckon there are two rules:

    1. If you can;t express your self clearly, then don't get cranky when people miss the point - it is the conversation starters accountability to state a question or observation clearly and clarity is defined by what the reader understands - dont bollock your reader for missing the point, rather look to yourself for not communcating clearly ...
    2. If you stand previously acknowldeged as not being a clear communciator, think twice before posting ....failing which, expect to get bollocked.

The only 'break' you are likely to get around here(from we '***s')is a broken neck, unless you pull your head in and behave like a reasonable adult.
P.S. My second car is a Commodore 3.8L(I am NOT overawed by it's amazing cutting-edge technological features).
It's a reasonably good vehicle, that is all.:br:
