I agree with Stef...bring on skidpan!! it was fun but yet i learned alot about the limits of the zed... I ahvent had an episode yet of wetspinning....either my tyres are great or i'm being careful (i usually have precious cargo in the back seat)
If its done in a safe controlled environment its brilliant - beats taking stupid risks on the road where there are other drivers etc..

ZzRobbozZ, glad to hear that you were able to recover the vehicle without any damage, last thing you want after only having her for such a short time...

That's better than my Pintara. I was in the work car park one night, when it was pissing with rain. Got up some speed, full lock and ripped on the handbrake. Nothing happened lol

haha not trying harrrrrd enough! :p I've never lost it in the pintara, coming out of intersections from a slow speed you have to be careful though. Easy to understeer a LOT. My zed has better traction

As I said in another thread, when my Zed was new I lost traction a few times in the wet and only had the tail flick out slightly. Realistically, everyone needs to learn how to drive a new car and take all of this stuff in so you know what It can and can't do.

Definitely recommend getting your tyres checked but I can't stress how important a wheel alignment is. You may not notice it on a flat road going straight, but throw a few bumps in and it might just make the world of difference.

I definitely know what you mean by the alignment. My alignment is off, i had it fixed at PZP by tom but after doing that he did a swaybar bush replacement, which un-did the alignment... getting it re-done on wednesday, especially since it's piss-raining now.

I crashed in the wet, zed's are very dangerous on wet roads. You can't go feeding it around corners tight corners without fish tailing. Driving at the speed limit helps.

This perth weather sucks right now ( i know its not as bad as the other states but i dont care im in WA ) if it continues like this i imagine the cruise would be either shit or moved to a later date (both crappy options) :(

    :D

I think some people use skidz/burnouts as a boast of power

My first sidewayz (in the 180sx) was in the wet and was fun as hell

    Equally, handbraking the Excel lol

Done a couple in the zed in the wet. My first proper "burnout" was in the wet.
Reason... I'd avoided doing them at the drags coz I didn't know how lol (holding it on the brake I'd never done) and didn't want to look stupid at the drags.

So i'd always avoide the burn out pad...which funnyily enough... they hose down... with water...to make it... what's the word? oh yeah "wet"

So one night on the way home from a mates, no one else on the road. Late at night. Patch of wet road thanks to government retic, and hey presto,... a practice pad :D

Some people like proving thier cars worth in the dry. I've done 2 in the dry only.

For some reason I dont want to burn my tyres, or blow up my gear box.

No... wet skid is NOT something to "boast" about, but HELL YES it's fun.

    Just keep it safe mate.

Even as I type I've heard a "dick head" doing a burnout at the end of my road. Thats about the millionth one today... just because the roads are wet.

So yes, it's fun... just dont become of those "wet road warriors"

and I'll say again... ffs keep it safe.

    agreed totally.

Last AHG KC day we did was wet so that was almost a skidpan :D

But hell yes. When I've got some cash behind me again, I'd happily organise a Skid Pan day at AHG.

    A must I reakon.

    agreed

First time mine stepped out in the wet, i was turning let out of a juntion, and being aware of the conditions, was trying my upmost to take off as slow and smooth as possible.

Reguardless, i found my rear end trying to pass my front :D

I remember it well. I smiled, and kept the power steady, steered in, and slid onto the main road (duel lane thankfully) and straightend up.

Scary and exhillierating all in one emotion.

The smile stayed with me all the way to work.

When Vizard had the fully sik rb20det powered VL that thing would spin everytime boost would come on. You had to think twice about changing gears in that thing lol.

Dont worry OP, spinning tyres is good fun. Everyone else in here doesnt wanna admit it haha
