Can anyone point me in the direction of somewhere i can find out about fiberglassing. I have been looking around and found out how to do it in general. But im wanting to know how you create the inital shape the you you want the fiberglass to conform to. What do you use. any help would be great. either that or anyone know of someone that does custom sub boxes and dosnt charge the world for it in brisbane. I was looking at learning to fiberglass this christmas as somthing to do and a new skill to learn.
I went to Adult Community TAFE courses to learn how to make fibreglass parts from moulds and then I did an advanced course in mould making. I also have a book on it which helps jog the memory.
IS fiberglass the best product to make a sub box out of. someone suggested MDF. which would make it sound better? is the correct or am i barking up the wrong tree
hands on If you were willing to drive to toowoomba. 1 and a half hours west, I am building a custom bodykit for my zed at the moment, I will be doing it every day basically for the next two weeks. I would be willing to teach you a few things. You can do just about anything with fibreglass, and it is relativily simple once you know the basics of it. The are certain good features about fibre glassing a sub box if that is what you want to do, and it will probably work out cheaper if you use fibre glass and do it yourself as well. Jamie
Re: hands on Sounds great will have to be after xmas though but that would be great and toowoomba is not that far and a nice little drive up the hill with all those corners. will get in touch when i find a date if that is cool with you. thanks a bunch. cheers Terry
No problems I have up until the 4th of jan off work, if it is after that it will have to be a weekend. Just let us know when. Jamie
