    Hi guys,

Quick question. Will error codes return on 'ON' or does the engine have to be cranked?

Not sure if code 34 fixed and can't start engine yet

Depends on the error. Some will only come up after a period of running (like code 34 for me).

Code 34 will show up with just key on if it hasn't been fixed.

Checking by putting the ECU in diagnostic mode and counting the flashes.

Reset the ECU yesterday and came up 55, but can't start because Im waiting on my fuel filter and I have the PTU out. Also found it odd that there's no code 21 with the PTU unplugged..

It may not see PTU fault till it trys to fire.

Also it is not a definitive diagnostic tool, just a help, sometimes you will not get an error code, and "scanned" items can be the cause.

That's because the ECU can't detect an ignition fault until it tries to fire the spark plugs.
