engine tick,

hey guys at idle i can hear a ticking noise coming from the rear top of the engine, any ideas as to wats goin on? is one of my pistons hittin sumthing?

 

Probably hitting TDC.

 

a bag of sawdust will do the trick lol

noisy lifters,definately a full rebuild ,

search lifter tick on here or anywhere

 

depends how loud it is, where its coming from etc...

if ur saying JUST the rear how loud is it? is it a very fast ticking??? could possibly be ur iacv/aac valve wateva its called.... or as mentioned lifters but that wouldnt just come from the backk....

 

how long since uve changed ur oil? may be due?

Thats your lifters mate try an oil change, when was the lastime you changed it ?
is the car used daily ?

 

As others have said

Oil probably requires changing. If your engine is 100K+ I'd use a 20-50W oil.
